Game is over.

As announced at time of last election round, I will not candidate again to lead South Africa NT. I was aware pf progressive reduction of time due to private life and the increasing need of setting new foundation for a next generation of SA roster. I decided to run once again as I missed a medal and I wanted it.

Gold came. Shining exciting gold.

I leave South Africa at climax of his history, a gold medal at neck, 44 in ranking (highest at end of a mandate since S12!).
We have a solid roster that will last for next 2 mandates, with few (alas only few, not enough) players with room to grow and able to represent South Africa in the future.

I am proud of the results I achieved, WE achieved: gameshape, trainings, patience have been yours, not mine.

I wish my successors to leave the same experiences I had, to built with you a team that will succeed again. A new pool of players should be built and developed, new medals can be grabbed since incoming S29 (gold? well... don't think so). I will not go so far away, indeed. But if I left U21 to aim to higher results, here what I really need is ... having some more free time!

I would be surprised if not, actually! ;) In U21, SA helped to set the foundation for the deep review of Italy U21 that then won a streak of golden medals. In NT, I learnt a lot of things (and missed Serie A with a "south african" roster only because my super-Center was killed half the way ). Italy NT is far too much at the moment, but... then, next time I will have to learn again, back here!
