A hearty hello from your NT coach. (For today at least.)

You should all have your draftees now. I hope you drafted well. I'd like to refer you to this post on the England forum: (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...)

If you should happen to have drafted a player with allstar potential or above, please contact Zeus, England u21 coach with this details.
If you draft a player with MVP potential above, contact either Zeus, or me.

Both of us can be found here : (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/country/14/overview.aspx)

Just click on our names and send us a message with details of your player. A link to the player would probably be enough for a first message. We'll reply as soon as possible.

In addition to what Gully said, I also strongly encourage anyone to ask for a mentor or help, if you feel like you need it. Advice is usually helpful in avoiding common mistakes. There is a global thread here http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr..., but you could always open a thread in the BB England forums here http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr..., see the centre-left sidebar.

Also, if you follow your games online on the viewer, you could also log in into the chat in the lower part of the page. The NT, U21 manager or other veteran managers are often online for league games and you could ask questions or simply enjoy the banter.

Good luck everyone for the upcoming season!

That of course is your choice. As I've made clear in many posts, the players belong to the teams not the NT/u21. However, training English players benefits your team by giving you higher merchandising, and in the case of NT representation, that can be a significant increase in merchandising, paying a large chunk of the NT player's salary.
That is why I feel its in team's interests to train NT players especially.
But again, the choice is yours.

Yeah as Gully mentioned and as I know very well (since I don't own any english player myself) there is a tangible advantage in owning NT players and to a lesser extent U21 players.

The merchandise bump covers a percentage of the player salary and this is a significant advantage compared to owning an identical player from a foreign nation (you'd still have the bonus if he plays in the foreign NT, but it would be a fraction), especially when you are looking to 150K+ salaries. This is why most managers in the EBBL with NT calibre players are so touchy about the NT manager job.

Also not owning any English player playing meaningful minutes means, you'll have your fan survey stuck at 1-1.5 balls for the entire season for the fans being familiar with the team. This reduces your gates receipts and despite being a more volatile effect, it does have an impact on your finances too.

Ultimately, as Gully said, all managers are free to do what they believe is in their best interest. For example I have invested time and money in a foreign big man for 4 seasons now, I won't go switching to guards, even they are English now.

The other thing I forgot to mention, but I've said previously, if you're not interested in the NT/u21s, then the best thing for you to do is sell your trainee to someone who is. And to do it now, he's never as valuable as he is the first week after the draft.
