Note to Wildcats - you can't sell off a trainable asset and then expect me to vote for you...

Brutus you have done well but what do you plan to do better next time? How will we get the next generation of bigs coming along?

First about next season. I think the biggest thing we will benefit from is having Yasujiro move to a new team, assuming the new owner manages him well. He's in the Swedish first league so I assume the manager knows what he's doing, But, I'll reach out to him anyway to be sure.

We also have had some development with our young guards, this should help us to be come more versatile to be able to use outside tactics more as well.

Looking at the schedule we should definitely advance to the second round and compete for a spot in the S30 Repechage which comes from a top 6 finish in Asia. One thing about the Repechage is that its basically a curse if you can't win your group because you start the Consolation tournament at 0-2. But, I'm someone who always wants to compete so I think we do are best and take what comes to us.

About our Bigs. I spent the last two seasons hoping that something would start to develop out of the U21 team. That hasn't happened so far so I think I'll take another approach.

First, I've decided to use my Utopia team to help our National program. I'm not going to treat it like a farm. I'm still going to compete hard but I'm ready to take on some trainees and as such I would prefer to take Japanese trainees if I have a choice. I'm going to focus that team on training bigs. Trouble is just finding someone to train.

My second thought is that we need to find some bridge players. Our bigs on the team now are 29-32 years old. they will all be useless in 4-6 seasons. It's unlikely any new trainees will be ready by then. So, to bridge the gap I'm going through and scout all our players again and try to identify a few that are not ideal but can bridge us through with a little work. Hopefully I can get their owners to give them some development to make them as good as possible.

I'm also open to ideas on all this so everyone let me know your thoughts.

I tend to train bigs/guards/bigs/guards... and so on. K-Mat was part of my bigs group (when I trained multiple nationalities), and Torii, Tomioka & now Mori (3rd trainee - but only PA pot) are part of my guard group. Next time I'm up for trainees, I'll focus on bigs too (stopping one or two of my 3, and picking up a big). My training's cyclical.

edit: I too will try & pick up a Japanese trainee for my Ute team.

Thanks for grabbing him. I was up and watching but wasn't going to bid against you. Just as long as one of us got him. I'll be ready for the next guy.

Ahhh... the only reason I bid on him was because I thought you were probably in bed (you hadn't bid past 9k). Sorry dude!

Hmmm, in hind sight I guess I should have done something to make you aware I was there. Like posting one bid or sending you a note.

If having him is trouble for you then we can try to pass him over through the market. But otherwise I'll keep my eyes open for another guy.

He is not even close to the NT stars of the present but better than those of the past like Hirofumi Sonoda so maybe worth a look as a backup however I will warn you he is annoying he capped super early & fouls out a lot.

Ichiro Nishimura (25318371)
Power Forward
Weekly salary: $ 80 113
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)
DMI: 357300
Age: 28
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: MVP
Game Shape: respectable

I think we do have time. You can make a mono-skilled big in 4-5 seasons although better well rounded ones take ages.
32 Tohru Asano
31 Kouzo Yasujiro
30 Katsurou Matsumoto Eita Wakatsuki
29 Takayoshi Kishita

So the first 2 guys are basically in trouble but the next 3 have at least 4 good seasons left & maybe longer with career extension trainers. Only 5 bigs on the team does show a lack of depth.

Not at all! Just feel a bit guilty for nabbing him from you...
