Alrighty!

The new season is underway, so it's time for some formalities:

first off i'd like to say farewell to Bradok (Royal Canin), GM-AnGi77 (Estrellas Absurdas) and polleforever (KV Forever). They are going down to II after being relegated. (i'm hoping Angi won't go bot, but she has been absent for 27 days and to this day, i haven't had a reaction to my sms i send to her. She would be dearly missed in our community).

Ofcourse, with 4 teams leaving us (i didn't mention the radiation, since they went bot), that means that we have 4 new teams joining us. Please welcome back Minne (BC Minne, last seen in the BBBL in season 24), ppmmp (Obira Dragons, last seen in the BBBL in season 27) and 65daysofstatic (Amenra, last seen in the BBL in season 25).

Amongst those promoting, we also have a team that has made it to the BBBL for the first time! So, please join me in welcoming Bull.7 (Paros Bulls, founded in season 24!). In the past 15 seasons, more often than not the team promoted to the BBBL were teams returning to the BBBL, so it's always fun to have a new guy on the block. (btw, Nat Hickey, this means you are no longer the new guy in town ;)

Also, i'd like to congratulate our Lion cup winner and our BBBL winner: JoeMaverick. He will be attempting to defend both honors for the 4th consecutive season and will without a doubt represent Belgium well in the B3!

Last but not least, as per usual (tho i'm assuming this is unnecessairy) i've put up a poll to see who will win the BBBL this season. Feel free to say who you voted for and why. Futhermore, i'd like to ask everyone to predict who will be in the PO finals this season. that should start off the discussion here and it might be interesting to see how the other manages predict the finalists of season 30!

i'd like to wish one and all the best for the upcomming season and let the games begin!

Poll:  Who will be the season 30 champ

Vottem Cowboys
Kelmis Spartans
TBS Wolves
Ventola
the mumu boys
BC Tienen
RSC Eagles
a surpise team!

to start off the discussion, i've got these following 2 teams for the PO finales:

Bloodred conference: Vottem Cowboys
After having betted against Joe to many times, i've decided to stop underestimating him. even when his team seems beatable, it just isn't. The only way Joe drops games is if he has a poor GS, multiple injuries or decides not to log into BB. And he takes good care of his team, so i doubt any of those 3 conditions will be forfilled this season. Hence, he's at the top of my list. Also, being champ gives you some extra flexibility from an economical point of view (read the past seasons or the manual to understand those). Thus Joe is also sitting on a nice pile of cash, should he need it. Hence, Joe is my pick.

Deep Blue conference: the mumu boys
i was really tempted to go with a surprise pick here, but i'm assuming that training for Ken Neudt ain't over yet. Thus, i'm going with the mumu boys, who have a very strong starting 5 and should be able to claw their way to the top in the deepblue conference. However, unlike with Joe, any injury to any player of his starting 5 could prove to be the tie breaker, even if it's only for a week. the deep blue conference is a conference where anyone could beat anyone and thus a minor injury can have major consequences. Still, the mumu boys have shown consistency by making 2 straight BBBL finales appearances and i got a feeling that they'll be wanting to make it 3 in a row.

And ofcourse, i got Joe's Cowboys as my pick for the season 30 BBBL.

Also, welcome to Bull.7 Congratulation on making it to the BBBL in 6 seasons. you only joined BBBL in season 24 (which makes me feel like a old old old man considering that i've been part of BB for 24 seasons and the fact that i needed 11 seasons to make it to the BBBL) Few managers rise through the ranks as fast as you have, so it's fun to see a guy storm straight to the top. However, i fear that you will only be with us for a season, since your arena has some catching up to do. None the less, it's fun to have you and i hope you'll join the conversations on the forum (while soaking up experience in the meanwhile and enjoying a season a free training and economical wealth ;)

If i got time, i might do a season preview later on. i got some fun idea's for the preview, but since i'm in the exams, i might not have the time to do it (futhermore, a GM rarely gets to rest during the off-season or the start of the new season, so no guarantees that i can make it this season. But i got a fun draft prepared about the things that i'd like to do with this seasons preview ^^)

Welcome in BBBL to Paros Bulls ;) You have reached the top division pretty quickly, congratulations!
And off course, welcome back to AmenRa, BC Minne and Obira Dragons.

I don't see any team able to beat Vottem Cowboys, Bloodred conference still the most competitive.

NB: I'm not the rookie anymore :p

Bloodred conference ....third time....nice. And look at my reopening contest...against the SUPERCHAMP of Belgium.

Greetings to all other teams. The number one this season will be:.........................The Cowboys.
Obira Dragons aims for fifth place . (but 6,7,8 is Always possible)

Welcome to the prestige league in Belgium, Paros Bulls

You've made quite a progression from going to the lower to the top division in as little seasons as you did, that's quite an amazing route you've taken there so i'm very curious as to what will be your prestation in Belgium's top league.

No doubt, it will be hard for you this first season in the BBBL, but a manager with your proven qualities is always capable of something extra i think...

grtz,

Couple of interesting results from the very first day, with Paros winning a very important game at Amenra, thinking of both teams' survival in BBBL, and I am a little bit amazed by Falco Gent's win at Minne, given those game ratings I would have expected a home win.

I knew it from Joe's team, but match ratings are far from showing everything there is.
