I would like to start by saying, thank you Korea, for giving me the chance to represent you guys at the National level of competition.
My name is Statsman, you can call me "stats", "statsy", or even "hey you!", and I have been playing Buzzerbeater since season 9. I must say I'm nowhere near the best, and I didn't start out as interested in this game as I am now. So to the new managers out there (mainly Baboteam and Greenshytea), I know there's a lot to learn, I'm still learning now I think, please feel free to ask questions.
And to the veteran managers of this league, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for sticking with this game and your dedication in staying with us.

Gangnam Warriors - thank you for opening up your checkbook to save our aging National players. I know their skills must be diminishing, and it doesn't help your league team much, but they are the best we've got, and I want to thank you on the behalf of the NT and Korea as a whole for keeping our NT competitive

Busan Thunder - thank you for sticking to training and developing some excellent players. You have a Canadian NT player. We appreciate the efforts. Hopefully with the lack of competition in your conference, you can get lots of training done.

Seoul Skywalker - hopefully you are revitalized and once again interested / have the time for this game. You were near going bot, and we really can't afford to lose you. Every manager counts for this nation to succeed. I am glad to have you back

Baboteam - I know you're new here, but it looks like you do know what you're doing with training, so I'll leave you to it, but if you have any questions, just ask. I know you'll develop some good players in the future, that's for sure

Seoul Sarcum Tigers - congrats on your success this past season, and you're willingness to help, and of course, your training of young players. You are an invaluable manager for this nation

skku-star - just hope you can stay active. Anything you can do to help in training would greatly appreciated. We'll talk

Greenshytea - our other fresh manager. I hope we could have a discussion on what your plans are. I know you got put in the more competitive conference. Winning won't come easy. You don't have to make U21 your top priority, but let's discuss what you want to do, I would love to help.

Daegu Heatwave - wow... what can I say. I must say the manager who's been around the longest. But look at that roster! Let's trim that down a little first, then we'll plan our next step. You have quite a few promising prospects in that lineup and we could really benefit if you could develop them.

I'm sure many managers before have said the same thing, about how we're not going to win many games, and etc etc. Our U21 roster this season, we only have 1 U21 competitive level player, and what's worse is that after this season, that player will be graduating from the U21 program. So we really NEED fresh blood. We need young players trained to that level, if not, even to 10k salary level, for next season, and the season after that, and so on. I hope I can have you all on board with helping me realize that, and make the U21 team a fun and promising part of this nation's program.

Cheers,

Stats

This is my fellow Canadian manager, Morwood.
He's not just saying things to make me look good, but in fact, I was his understudy in his several U21 managing stints. So I have a bit of a feel of what international competition will be like. And from my experience from previous seasons, we are in the group of death. Those spots are pretty much sealed to the big nations. But we will still do what we can.
Not expecting a perfect game, but I definitely will give my best effort.

So we've just had our first week of the season, and also our first training update. With that, also our first game shape update. I want to commend you all for your willingness to train our young players. Thank you.

Our first game of the season for the U21 team will be this Monday at 8pm local time for you guys. 6am for me. But I'll still make every effort to be online for the game and chime in on chat if any of you want to be there. As you can see, I have made significant cuts to our roster. At our current level, one or two skill points won't make a big difference, but game shape definitely does. So please everybody, try to manage the number of minutes (48 - 72 minutes a week) that your players play, not just for me and the U21 team, but for your own club teams too. With that said, that also means I have lots of room to make additions to the roster.
I have my eyes on all our potential call-ups, and if I see signs of well managed minutes (good game shape) and good training. The next addition to the U21 roster might just be from your team! =)

We're currently in search for an up and coming Inside player. I know that one of our young players will step up and make it to the squad. I have faith in you Gangnam! ;)

That was our first game of the season, a 56-111 loss to the power house, Austrailia. It was going to be a blowout from beginning to end. I knew that. But it is what it is, and we can only go up from here. Terrible that Shin picked up an injury that early into the game. I guess that's the problem with having a short roster, and also my lineup setup in terms of reserves. I didn't prepare myself for that and I will take that as a lesson for future games.
The positives from the game. Despite having to play extended minutes and close to playing all game, our players didn't foul out. We did decent on the free throw line. Baby steps... start out small and hopefully we improve into bigger things. Man... passing is beyond repair. Haha. I'll have to look into a "streetball" / everybody for themselves / no teamwork type of offense.
We will get better. Don't worry too much about it guys. Have a good night. =)

Another week of training and I'm loving the pops that I see. Means you guys are really dedicated to training and making our young players better for the long term. And look at that game shape! We've got 2 proficients and 3 strong out of our 9 players. Don't worry too much about that right now as I know game shape is tricky even when you do give your players ideal minutes. Gameshape will come around. I believe in you guys.

Now this week we're playing against China. Wow... their top guy out-salaries our entire roster. But I'll try my best to get points wherever I can find them. Their game shape looks good, but ours isn't that shabby. But it just goes to show you. On any given week, our opponent's game shape could completely crap out and as long as you guys keep it up and maintain good minutes, we could make something happen. So keep up the good work! =)

Game time 8pm on Monday for you guys. Don't expect much, but I'll be there watching for any pleasant surprises.

Final Score
China 104 - 48 Hanguk

My goal has always been to break 50 points or not lose by double against these tough teams, and we were almost there. Kyung-Tae Jung was leading the charge in the last minute sinking a 3 and also attempted a 3 at the buzzer and got fouled... unfortunately missing all 3 free throws. It's okay, it's a building process.

With that in mind, the game MVP for Korea goes to... Kyung-Tae Jung! For his leadership on both sides of the ball. Offensively, 2nd in team lead in scoring, and defensively holding down their lead scorer and picking up rebounds. Congrats on a game well played!
Honorable mention goes to Min-Koo Kim for holding down that beast of a player they have on the inside. You didn't completely shut him down, but I expected a lot worse. So a job well done! And also Jae-Hoon Kim for being our leading scorer for the 2nd game in a row!

Good job by the rest of the team as well. I might look into Jae-Ho Park some more as he did decent job coming off the bench. Passing isn't our strong suit, we already knew that, but turnovers are killing us! Rebounding we're doing surprisingly okay, can't say we're doing great, but just okay (might partly be due to the GDP). Where we're hurting the most is offensively. We need some offensive prowess!

Let's get on it team! We'll get there. Keep working hard!

Edit: U.A.E. actually came to play this week. With that we're officially at the bottom of the barrel. =/

Great week of game shape everybody! Thank you for sticking to it. Not saying that it'll guarantee a victory, but it should give me a good sense of how we could be when we're at our best.

I might be making a few call ups this week or next, so anticipate an bbmail or two asking for player stats.

On top of that, something we need to consider. We are on the verge of unfortunately losing 2 more managers in the Korea community unless they manage to login before they go bot. But in the meantime, please take a look at these 2 rosters and any player age 21 and under that any of you might consider buying and training, let me know the player's name and id number either here in the thread or bbmail if you want to keep it private. I'll send you their stats and make sure they don't retire with their team.
