Welcome to the Canada U21 - Season 31 thread. I will update this thread with weekly pops, game recaps and other U21 news.

Last season we had a bit of a rough go. After a decent first round where we went 5-1 only losing to eventual champs Argentina, we only managed to go a disappointing 2 - 3 in the next round, coming in 4th. It was interesting unil the last game where a win against Venezuela (who we beat in the 1st round) would have meant we had a chance at Semis. but it wasn't to be. Again a big thanks to all the managers to took time to train their players and keep the minute management in good form.

This season we are hoping to win more games and improve on the performance last season. A simple look at the first 12 players on this season's roster will show we have got some bigger salaried guy, though the back end doesn't show as big a jump in TSP...hopefully the primaries will do more justice at U21.

Quick Pops update:

Week 1 - 12 Players - 7 pops

Hopefully we can continue to average more than .5 a pop, per player all season. Each player should be able to get 4 - 7 pops depending on what is being trained for the season. Take a moment to think about where those pops should go to make your player a beast by season end!

Still 6 spaces open this season and while I can see the stats of the players already on the team, I can't for those who didn't make it yet. I'm hoping managers who have a good 21 year old will keep me updated on pops progress and only play their players 60 minutes per week to ensure good game shape.

Any questions or comments you can post here or bbmail me. Go Canada!

Just a quick update on pops before tomorrow's update:

Week 1 - 12 Players - 7 pops
Week 2 - 12 Players - 7 pops

So still above a 1/2 pop per week per player which is good news. Nice win last week on the road and big game at home this week. So far GS management has been decent and hoping to keep those players between 50 - 70 minutes per week. Cheers. Green.

Pop pop pop....

Week 1 - 12 Players - 7 pops
Week 2 - 12 Players - 7 pops
Week 3 - 12 Players - 6 pops

Still above .5 a week...minute management has been ok, but often too many minutes. Lets try to keep it under 70 per week...especially with some tough games upcoming. Another nice win last week but next week might be a bit rough...hoping for a nice gs update. Cheers.

Nice win this week vs Viet Nam, but next week seems like it will be near impossible to win. Hoping for a nice gs update tomorrow!

We need to be extra attentive about saving high potential players from retiring when teams go bot. A few HOF/ATG 18/19 year olds are not being saved (from other countries as noted on the forum) and it is has gotten ridiculous and mysterious as to who is sent to the TL and who isn't under the new murky FA rules.

Been doing really nicely on training and our game shape has been coming together. As of writing this (before Thursdays game) I've got 13 of the 14 players at perfect minutes, or should be at perfect in a back up role or starting spot on Thursday. Should be an easy win next game and then we finish the season with two bigs games. If for the next 3 games we go 3 - 0 we will make the final 32 pretty certain...going 2 - 1 seems to leave it up to PD, while 1 - 2 or worse would mean we are out. Hoping the GS update works for us this week and that we can pull off some big victories coming up. If we can outlast every one else in the Americas we could get home court next season. Cheers and Go Canada!
Green.

Great win last week vs Uruguay and if we win against the swiss this coming week we will be the top ranked team in americas to make it into the final 32....hopefully this will be enough to get home court in next years americas tourney.

Pretty good game shape last week considering cup, and this week looks to be better. Go Canada!

So heartbreaking loss against the Swiss this past Monday means that Chile is ahead of us in the rankings and if we both lose in the first round of the bracket (which seems likely) they will get home court next year. Of course if we pull off the upset and they don't we will get it, but seems unlikely. Still don't know what went wrong in the Swiss game....had been building enthusiasm all season, played at home and had better ratings for the most part....sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce in your favour and I'll take the blame for the disappointment. Hoping for a miracle Monday so fingers crossed.
Green.

Although nobody likely cares, I'm going to wind down and leave BB in the next couple of weeks. I sometimes can't get logged into the site through my iPad for days on end which has made things increasingly frustrating. Makes you wonder how many people have quit because of similar Apple issues. Plus you can't view the games either.

The only reason Im posting this message is to say that I'm going to put my 4 high quality Canadian prospects and NT player Kearin up for sale for $1 each and I'll try to have the auction end during the evening EST. Hopefully they all find a good Canadian home.

Good luck Friends and goodbye to the nice people I've chatted with on this site the past 4 yrs.
