Does anyone know if the point guard in buzzerbeater has the same function as in real basketball? If not could you tell me his function?

What i mean do i have to look forward for a point guard with good handling and passing because he mainly organises the game or does the engine sees no difference between a point guard or shoothing guard?

That is a loaded question. BB tries to approximate basketball in real life so i guess yes the PG position relies heavily on passing and handling. If you look at your game results you will see the category offensive flow. Obviously you should have a better team rating score on your offensive flow when using a pass first PG as opposed to choosing a shooting guard in that position with sub par passing. Dont forget that all your positions are also weighed in this score but in lesser degrees. Guards weighed the most while C-PF's the least.

Game ratings are only one aspect of BB's game engine and doesn't always reflect the outcome of the game. You can win every category of game ratings and still lose the game. On the other hand, you also would enjoy a slightly better rating on outside shooting assuming your sg can light up the score board. There are trade offs if you want to play someone in a different position.

I guess it also mostly depends on which tactic you want to play no?

Well i don't think ratings reveal much these days. With managers tending to acquire more and more players with strong secondaries.
Best example is the Belgium number 1, if you look at his results in B3. According to his ratings he should never advance that far in the tournament.

In my experience (which is just 3.5 seasons, but I've done pretty well with below-average team salaries) the PG is perhaps the most important position, and yes - handling and passing are very important, plus outside D.

When I upgraded to a PG with much better "point guard" skills, my game flow and shooting pcts. went up. It would also appear that if you want a classic PG, you don't want his shooting skills too high, or he will take too many shots instead of passing to better shooters.

A good pg is very important If you want to advance in BB.

One time I had scoring a pg and all around one. It was pretty fun to see how the game played out. Btw I still do today
