Hi Everyone,

I have a question about using LCD vs SFDC.
I usually set my lineup 10 deep and then run SFDC, but when I do run LCD with the same lineup set, the coach still follows my lineup almost exactly. Is that just because my lineup makes sense? Or do I need to not set subs (but still set starters, of course) for the coach to truly DECIDE the sub pattern in the LCD option?

Thanks,

Iguanadon

Based on my latest Utopia game, where I played LCD, there really wasn't much variance from when I play SFDC.
Perhaps it only matters in garbage time? I hear that in LCD, the coach leaves the starters in.
I was kind of hoping that the coach would swap guards from PG to SG and make strategic moves at certain times with the LCD freedom, but that didn't happen. Again, my lineup just may be a super obvious plug in, so perhaps I had it all set the way it should be anyways.

Maybe the question was asked by his first team and his answer provided by his Utopia team?

Yeah, I guess I did reply to myself. I was hoping some other folks might chime in before my game took place so I could hear about their experiences and insight regarding playing LCD instead of SFDC, but no one did. So, I just gave a run down of what did end up happening in the game in question.

So by your answer... There is 2 people running the team and that a possible person different from the main user is answering his own question. Doesn't makes sense!

I only ever used lcd with NT teams, and mostly before they made the changes to stop blanks.

I'm pretty certain that I used lcd in a scrimmage after the change, and the coach no longer left the starters in. So I think even that useful feature was changed.

Thanks GullyFoyle.
Have you seen it ever play players out of the depth chart positions?
Like, if you start a clear SG at PF, would it move him back to SG at the first sub opportunity?
Obviously, you probably didn't start guys out of position in NT games, so it may be hard to find an example.

I like that idea. The coach from my first team wrote the first post and then the coach from my Utopia team answered him.

In reality, it was just me trying to keep the thread going with hopes of some input into the original question, which has started happening, so that is cool.

I wish I'd thought of doing that at the time, but I'm almost certain I had everyone where they should have been. Even those players who were good enough to play at multiple positions didn't. It was, as you've found, almost exactly like SPDC, with what appeared to be slightly different minute ratios.
I also named different backups for every position, so I can't say what happens if you, for example, use one player at PF and C from the bench.

Thanks for the info.
The reason I started thinking about this is that my Utopia team is homegrown, so the players are much more balanced than my first team. Thus, several guys can play across 3 positions, even 4, depending on what kind of opponent I'm facing and strategy I want to play. I was hoping that playing LCD in my playoff game (which I lost) would enlighten me to some interesting new lineups that I hadn't thought to use in the past as the game progressed.
Perhaps the LCD option would allow OT games to follow a better sub pattern, as with SFDC the coach tends to unload the bench to start off the extra period, which is not so good.
