It's time for Season 32, and this one is going to be awesome since our league now has... Chekreyes!!!! I can't wait to see if he tries to get through this season paying Ramón Linn's salary. If history repeat's itself, one of us won't be back in this league next season since both times we've been in a league together, somebody moved on after one season. After Season 17, Chekreyes relegated out of III.1, and Season 22 Chekreyes won III.1. Okay, so it's always Chekreyes who's moved, but I'm hoping this season it will be me moving up.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

I was way happy when I saw you were here!

Yeah I think I got it figured to the point where I can keep Ramón. Especially if my trainees sell. To be honest though my excitement of getting another season of banter with you is slightly offset by having to actually play you in league play... Should be fun though!

How competitive was this league last season?

Well I think the difference between our teams is that you'll be making money this season :)

I just hope his salary doesn't go up after the update.

Edit

He's estimated at 52k and Yazzie is estimated to jump to 30k... this is gonna be a fun season for the economy :D

Some quick stats on our league. I'm bored and want to use the new MacBook I bought yesterday.

Top 8 Players Salary

The Big 8
1. Drugslingers $ 149 016
2. Portland Red Claws $ 142 328
3. Flash Mashers $ 133 425
4. Something Epic $ 43 930
5. Night Sky $ 38 092
6. Besaid_Aurochs $ 26 544
7. Plilly $ 22 311
8. Ocelots $ 20 859
Total: $ 576 505

The Great 8
1. OneStepFromHell $ 150 694
2. New York Chunks $ 114 524
3. DaLips $ 112 743
4. Yayareasfinest $ 106 231
5. Miami Transplants $ 65 195
6. Brooklyn Legends $ 51 617
7. Soviet Nets $ 39 829
8. Molineux Wolves
Total: $667 619

I always find this stat quite telling when you don't have much else to base your opinion of other teams on. That being said, I believe my team to be better than it's salary.

Huge gap between the top three teams in the Big 8 and the other five. Seems to me that the Great 8 has the upper hand in depth but the top few teams look even to me on both side. Fun fact, I've owned a team with a pay roll that was about the same as the entire Big 8 conference back when I was in Division II.

------------------------------

R.I.V.A.L.S.

Big 8
Plilly - Flash Mashers; Drugslingers
Something Epic - Besaid_Aurochs; Portland Red Claws
Besaid_Aurochs - Ocelots; Something Epic

Flash Mashers - Night Sky
Ocelots - Plilly

Drugslingers - X
Night Sky - X
Portland Red Claws - X

Great 8
Soviet Nets - DaLips; Miami Transplants
OneStepFromHell - Molineux Wolves; New York Chunks
DaLips - OneStepFromHell; Yayareasfinest

New York Chunks - Soviet Nets
Molineux Wolves - Brooklyn Legends

Yayareasfinest - X
Miami Transplants - X
Brooklyn Legends - X

This means that The Soviet Nets is the rival of two teams while Drugslingers are the rival of nobody. Funny that the highest top 8 salary in the Big 8 has no rivals gunning for him while Plilly has the top two paid teams of the Big 8 paying extra attention to them.
----------------------

Good luck to everyone! Looks like it should be a great season. In my honest opinion this league is stacked. I thought I'd waltz in with a salary touring over the other teams but that clearly won't be the case. Thanks to the Chunks, I don't even have the biggest arena!

Play ball.

I've tried that strategy before, holding on to a huge salary at center with the hope of a quick promotion back up. If you want to know how that worked do a search for Gabriel Cardona, who I relegated down to III.1 with me, and then see how long I was in III.1 after I finally got rid of his huge salary... But good luck trying it yourself!

Anyway, I tanked out of III.1 once i realized that most of my key players were nearing the end of their primes and even promoting would have gotten me to a higher league with a very old roster. You'll notice that most of my core players are really young now, I've had two seasons of solid training down here and this will hopefully be the season that I can take my trainees up to D.III since their skills are now just about ready to be competitive there. Oh, and I can outspend anyone here many times over after that season I tanked and sold all my best players. I'm still sitting on all that cash. But I'm going to try to promote without tapping into that reserve, we'll see how confident I'm feeling about my roster after the all star game.

Oh yeah for sure, I think your team is easily one of the top competitors. Salary is never a straight up way to do power rankings, but I thought a top 8 salary list is a bit better... considering that Miami Transplants has 34 players and Plilly has 21.

Maybe we can just combine our teams and become the Flash Chunks, I mean it's just to appetizing a name to pass up.

I'm thinking Chunk Mashers would be more marketable.
