I have been on the sidelines and not offered comment on the Overextension tax and Training exemption, because I am satisfied with them if they actualy work as publicized, with the training exemption offering credit for training up some players and causing their salaries to rise. But with the recent history of a feature being described one way and operating in a fashion contrary to the description, I have taken a closer look at the description of the training exemption.

“NOTE: The training exemption is the difference between the current overall salaries and the combined overall salaries of all players when they were acquired.” (emphasis added)

Just a minute there.

[1] If I train a draftee and cause his salary to rise $2500, my training exemption should be $2500, right?
[2] How about if I train a draftee and cause his salary to rise $2500 AND one of my older players salary drops by $2500; do I still get the training exemption at the rate of $2500?
[3] And if there is a second older player whose salary drops by $2500, then what is my training exemption?

Is is really just a training exemption, and as such a benefit to the manager? Or is it just another way to punish a manager for employing and retaining older players?

Thanks for any insight anyone can offer.

Okay, thanks Nickleon. I appreciate the good news.

Since that's not how the "official" description reads, and since I employ a few older players, I was concerned. Maybe they should take a few minutes to straighten out the description so as not to cause others concern.
