Age: 19

Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: average

Stamina: average Free Throw: inept

I am currently training his OD, thinking of reaching 15, training a little bit of inside skills, but I wonder should I go for JS/JR 12/8 and have PA at around 10, or leave JS and JR as it is and push PA, to make more of a defensive type of player who can pass the ball? What do you think? How would you build him?

Thanks.

I like a defensive player who can pass for him as he only has All-star potential, so he will never be a super great all around player or scorer in my opinion, but you can never go wrong with more defense and the passing will help make him less of a liability on offense.

I would advise against training inside skills, only really Inside Defense.

From experience with a Point Guard I had with '7' potential, training inside skills only meant he became a weaker Point Guard. I didn't have enough 'cap' to train his primaries strong enough.

So I would say with '6' potential, if you want to train inside skills, train only Inside Defense. Then focus on his primary skills.

That's my two penneth.

If you make something like this:

9 8
15 11
14 12
9 7
7 3

You could either add 2 PA to get to 99% cap, or 3 JS and 2 JR. I'd take the 5 pops JS/JR at that point. With low potential I'd always look for a more balanced player because you can get more SP stuffed in that way. Maybe even go for

12 11
15 11
15 11
9 7
7 3

Both builds could be trained more IS/ID/SB of course, don't know how far you want to go there.
