I played my first home game today (Utopia) after getting a bot promotion last season. My income was about 30k lower than in Div. 4. I am sure thats not the way it is supposed to be, is it?

Perpete, did you actually take a look at my prices before posting?
My price structure in Div. 4 was: 8/18/60/400
This season in Div. 3: 10/18/75/400
I sold out all the bleachers at 8 per last season. It's not like I went silly increasing prices. I made 88k off bleachers last season. This game I made 46k off bleachers. Also the lower tier tickets only slightly increased while keeping the same price.

The fact that you got promoted as one of the "best of the rest" surely has a lot to do with it. Also, your rather bad performance in the playoffs doesn't help. I'd say it's a bit too harsh though (the attendance drop) but it should pick up rather quickly as the season goes on. Maybe we'll update it for next season if it turns out to be too slow to pick up.

Alright, thanks for clearing it up. Losing the first game surely didn't help either, but making less than in my lowest income game last season seems a bit odd. I would have been better off not promoting then. Or I guess I'll just have to be patient.
@Perpete: Sorry if I came off a bit aggressive. You sometimes have a certain way answering other people's posts ;) I usually had a nice increase in ticket sales after promoting. But then it was regular promotion, not getting the lucky loser call up.

Some teams in Spain reported me that some of the demoted teams earn more money than in the upper division with more attendance too.

Examples:

Demoted from ACBB (I) to II
(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/75788/arena.aspx)

1st attendance of the season 32 II = 19746
Last aftendance of the seson 31 ACBB = 15171 (match against the 1st in ACBB)

Demoted form IV to V
(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/75728/arena.aspx)

1st attendance of the season 32 V = 10540
Last attendance of the season 31 IV = 8491

Demoted from IV to V
(http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/76749/arena.aspx)
1st attendance of the season 32 V = 19522
Last attendance of the season 31 IV = 9024

I am not sure if it could be a bug or it could be because they change the prices when demoted.

Others teams said that they notice the demotion attendance drop in his gate receipts and attendances.

Yep, if I had a choice, I would have wanted to stay in Div. 4. Financially it would have been much better. I am earning less from ticket sales now, but doubled my salaries to be competitive. Kinda counterproductive. And even if the ticket sales turn back to the previous Div. 4 level, I still have higher salaries.
But this is not the place to complain. It is not a bug officially, so be it.

I did bot promote in Utopia last season and it was worth it economically. Some Spanish managers are reporting very good arena attendance after demoting, so maybe your income is buggy aswell but in the opposite direction.
