Since no one has mentioned this lately, I thought I'd take a moment to state:

I enjoy this game very much, in all of its myriad aspects, and I'm very happy that I discovered it several years ago.

- I try to tune in to my games live, when work and life permit, as it is just plan fun to watch the games unfold, to see how my players' stat lines are evolving (will someone get a double-double or even a tri-dub?), to hope that the scrub I'm playing because my normal backup SG got injured doesn't cause my whole team to implode, and to sit at the edge of my seat as a close game winds down through the final minutes.
- Friday mornings are like Christmas. With a regular team and a homegrown Utopia team, I settle in with a cup of coffee and take my time exploring who got skill pops (or drops), whose experience went up, how did everyone's game shape change... and how all these things impact my lineup for my upcoming Saturday games and beyond.
- Each arena price change time frame is exciting as I attempt to hone in to that exact right price, keeping in mind all the variables (is my team winning a lot this season, am I going to be expanding my arena, are the playoffs coming up, etc...), and then reviewing how these projections played out in the following home games.
- And then the draft... Usually I only get one or two players worth keeping, but in Utopia it has been especially key to draft good players since it is my team's only source. So, that morning when the drafts update, I totally get in there and run models on how I could train these guys with my current crop of trainees, what they could look like in five seasons, and/or whether I should part with them for some cash (which is the case on my regular team most of the time).

Anyhow, thought I'd share.

Cheers.

Iguanadon

EDIT: P.S. I forgot to mention when watching live games: to curse my franchise player as he starts off 0-10, and then dance a jig when he hits his last 8 shots in a row including the game winner.

I take it pretty seriously, but that just increases the fun.

Very much agree : )
Besides, go homegrown and double the fun with a mid and long-term strategy.

Are you admitting to "Gettin' Jiggy wit It" during games?
