Hi

I've been playing Buzzerbeater for about 3 years now and ever since I started playing the game, I've watched one user leave after another. I'm sure all of you have experienced this in your own leagues and divisions. Overall number of users is declining with an unusual rate and it's gotten to a point where I'm concerned that the game owners or whatever may close up the game and shut it down !! That is why I started thinking about why this is happening and what can be done to prevent it. I thought to myself that this is a great game. Why is the number of users decreasing ? I remember a time when my country had +80 users but now it stands at 62. Putting aside the fact that also many of the current users are not that active. When I registered 3 years ago, I had to start in Division 3 and climb my way up, but now many of the Division 2 teams are bots. I tried to stop the decline of my country's user number by introducing the game to my friends. But the game did not appeal to new managers and they stopped playing the game. I myself play basketball in the real world and I love Buzzerbeater, but it was a surprise to me that even my friends who played basketball (except for 1 or 2) did not stick to the game and stopped playing like many others! A couple of my country's top manager's and I talked about this for quite some time. I think that many new managers ( or even experienced managers ) stop playing the game for many reason but the most important of which are the following :

1- The seasons are too long. This affects many many features of the game. Like the matches or the training and so on ...

2- It's really hard for a new team to make it, even in a country with few users like mine. It took 2 years for me to get to my country's top division !!

3- It's really hard to save up some money. Specially with the way the market is right now ! So the new teams have a lot and I mean a lot to catch up to the top teams of their respective countries let alone the world. I know teams who have +30 million right now but are reluctant to spend it due to the way the market is at the moment. But the main point is that how can a new team become financially stable ? It takes years for a new team to do that !

4- The complicity of the game. All the details of the game is the beauty of it and I love every part of it, but the new users find it way too complicated. The Game Manual provides close to nothing !!

5- Lob sided game engine! And by that I mean the dominance of inside tactics ( this mostly causes experienced players to get bored with the same old thing and leave ). Because of the dominance of inside tactics ( Specially LI ), same type of players are trained and certain types of teams are built so it becomes like a routine and many may get bored. Also the defense is almost non existent in the game because of this. Defensive players are very rare.

These 5 reasons I think are the main reasons for users to leave the game. The first one that I talked about is the length of the season. Managers (Specially new ones) should have something to do everyday! two or three matches per week is not enough to keep managers busy! I suggest 1 month season or 1.5 month season at most!! Games everyday. The training of course must be adjusted accordingly. They can do like a 3 or 4 day periods for training instead of 7 days, or the training can be sped up. Same goes with the game shape. It took 11 season for me to train a small forward for my country's NT !! Some people are not that PATIENT !! Shortening the season also affects #2 and #3 that I mentioned above. Teams should definitely make more money (Specially new ones) and with shorter seasons, new teams can become successful more easily. As for the #4, I think in each country, a person should be selected (like a LA) to be like an adviser to new managers. The manager's team link should be provided in a BB mail for new managers ( Their country's respective chosen) so that they can contact him for

Ran out of characters !! Here is the rest :

As for the last one, I believe that the game engine should be revised so that managers can have the freedom of choice as to what kind of team they want to have. GDP and cheaper shot blocking and all that stuff has had a small effect on the dominance of inside tactics. With the current engine, and outside team has almost no chance against an inside one (given that they are on the same level). If the game engine is changed in a way so that an outside team will have as much chance of winning as an inside one, or a defensive one as an offensive one, or a balanced team as a complete inside one, then the variety of teams will increase dramatically and so different types of players will also be trained. This will prevent managers from getting bored during time and can keep the game appealing to new managers. In a way that they are free to built the kind of team that they want.

These were all just my opinion as somebody who loves this game and doesn't want to see it go down the drain !! As someone who wants the game to grow and have more users. 20K is too low for a game this beautiful and great. Let me know what you think and let's hope that someday, we'll be playing the game with millions of other managers.

I play a lot of online games and buzzer beater is one of the better ones. These threads have been popping up on all browser based games in the last few years though. The market is just getting smaller and I'm not sure how you stop it.

One of the reasons is that everybody is using their phones now instead of PCs and laptops. The idea of an app for Buzzerbeater has been talked about for quite some time now and the results would be fantastic if they went through with it. But the funds and budget just isn't there. Considering the mentioned, the game could still grow a lot more despite being a browser based one. You get what I mean ? I think the things and suggestions that I mentioned in my first post could be a first and steady step towards that goal. How do you think the game can expand while remaining a browser based one ? Many have talked about getting BB publicized, but this is easier said than done.

AN APP IS JUST A WAY TO LOGIN FASTER!!!

Many households don't even use PC computers anymore, so any addition to the game, that supports mobile device usability would be helpful.

Indeed. But that is not "a need thing" to increase users number.

As it is not possible to get an app done obviously it isn't.

OK BB had 50k users and that was the time when they advertised like crazy with a budget that was soon spent and done.

By app, I mean an actual APP !!! Not just something to login by and then get to the web page of BB !!!! What's the point of the app if it's just gonna transfer the users to the web page of BB ??? They could just use their phone browsers then! I mean an app which is designed specifically for the mobile phones ( Android or IOS ). Like many online games which are only played on mobiles. Every detail of the app is designed for the phones. I'm not an expert in designing or coding or anything, but I'm sure that a lot of users prefer to use their phone and not have to go to their PCs or whatever to be able to play the game. Also they prefer not to have to zoom like 100x when they use their phones' browsers to play BB.
