In order to make drafting more interesting, I suggest to add random hidden property to new draft players.
The hidden property could not be seen before you play this player a given number of seasons or minutes (say 2 seasons with average minutes at 25 per game) so as to discourage managers to trade new draft players.
The property must be interesting and close to real life. ex. learn a given skill fast then common player (independent of age, this could let a low potential player have some chance to survive, he can be useful in a short time as a role player.) be more focus in clutch time, such that skill set will be amplify in clutch time.
property could also be bad as well, say stupid and easy to make turnover, bad temper easy to foul. or lazy, slower in learning skill.
all this property could not be detected by points but you can obtain some hint of some of the properties in their report.
