Hello everyone, my name is Shane and I'm interested in giving a try to being the Danish U21 manager.

Some details:
I don't know Danish... but I'm hopeful this won't be big a problem. I was in Denmark in the fall, and it seemed to really not be a problem. Something like 90% of Danes speak English, is it??? That's almost more than here in the US! And I'm certainly up for using Google Translate and\or user help to translate in cases where it's needed, and hope you won't hold the language barrier against me.

This is my 27th season in BB... I've trained a PG that had a few minutes on the U21 USA team, and is looking like he'll have a good shot at playing for the national team in a year or two.

Now why am I trying Denmark?

Well, I'm Danish by birth (I was born in Copenhagen in 1982... my dad worked as a computer programmer for SAS for a few years, so that took the family there) [I also got to visit for the first time again this fall, and it was great]
But I was also looking through the national teams, and noticed Denmark's maybe weren't what they could be.
I noticed that teams like Belarus, Nippon, and Peru have higher rankings despite smaller user bases.
Now, don't get me wrong, they aren't awful. But looking through the recent seasons, it seems you've never had any success getting out of the Euro groups. And last year was the first time you failed to reach the consolation bracket knockout for the first time since season 25?

Now, I certainly don't know the full state of where we stand, the players and all... and it'll definitely be a learning experience for me.
But I'm wondering if we're setup with a reasonable situation to try and compete for the #2 slot in the Euro group this year. It'll certainily be tough, and the schedule isn't helpful but Poland seems to be really struggling recently and we get Turkey at home. So if we can just catch Russia (or France!?!?!?!) just right, we'd have a shot.

Now, indeed, I haven't been an NT manager before. And I can understand you might be interested in someone with more experience. But I've been around my NT for a while, and I believe I've got a reasonable idea of how to setup games at the national level, and what methods work.
And I'd certainly have interest in being the US NT manager one day... so I'd only want to do my best and excel here.

It seems that LA-funzip has set up a good roster for this season, so I can understand if you'd rather stick with him, or rather have someone more national or more experienced, but I hope you'll give me the opportunity. But I figured I should throw my hat in the ring and give the election a try, and hope you'll be interested in giving me a shot.

Thanks for listening,
God's grace and truth be with you,
Shane

Flash Mashers speaks Danish!?!

That said, I totally agree, the lack of the language might make it tough.
Just figured I'd take a long shot at trying the national thing :-)

Thanks for your positive words

Yeah I lived in Denmark for two years and worked pretty hard at the language. It's been hard to keep it up since I've been back though.

I can be your translator if you win and Google fails you ;)
