Starting at the all-star break all teams in possession of over twenty-five million dollars will receive a weekly 10% tax to every dollar above the 25M mark.

This basically means the 25 million mark is the hard cap. When you get to 28 million, you are taxed 300k, so even with the 300k weekly earnings, which is high, you stop making money.

I'll take my own team for example. With the way I constructed it, it should've earned me at least 35 million over the next 7 seasons. With the more optimistic evaluation being even over 40 million.

I've always respected BBs decisions, and will continue doing so. I'll simply adapt to the new rules, and try to beat my opposition as usual.

Still, I want to voice my concerns. I expected the luxury tax to gradually make it harder to earn money, instead of just platooning around a certain amount.

So I would like this tax to be reevaluated in the future, if a good idea comes up.

For example:
0-20 mil: free game
20-30 mil: 50k weekly tax
30-40 mil: 100k weekly tax
40-50 mil: 200k weekly tax
50+ mil: 400k weekly tax

Poll:  What do you think about the new luxury tax?

Burn the rich people!
It's good as it is.
Needs to be less harsh.
We got money, you broke ass (N-word)!

So it's a simple conclusion for me, don't earn more money then 25 mil, if you got it, spent it, on good players, on trainees, on a trainer or etc, so you can earn more money and in the same time your team gets stronger.

On the other way, players will get more and more expensive.
Those guys who got over 25 mil will go shopping now, show turned on.

It's OK for me atm.

This is where we hold them!

I think the tax is good. No change needed.

I constructed my team so I don't have to go in hibernation mode.

I believe my team is extremely strong for a 400k salary price. More importantly, all the players are about 27, so they have their entire prime career time in front of them. After they retire, I would still have ridiculous amount of money to repeat the cycle.

I wasn't going to tank, I was going to earn much more money than tankers :)

The tax simply sets a limit for how much money can actually be made, and personally, I think we were very lenient with it.

I agree with you. 25 million in lower divisions doesn't eliminate tanking.

IMO, it should be geared towards making promotion more attractive. If you can hoard the same amount in the lower divisions, there is no negative to rebuilding from rock bottom. If the higher divisions have access to a higher limit than the one below, it gives more incentive to stay competitive and avoid relegation.

Well, it probably applies to less than 1% of all the teams in BB, and most of them have so much money that the tax doesn't even make a dent. Yeah, I would have to agree with you -- lenient for sure.

It does make a dent, it actually chews off everything above 25 mil. For example if a team had 50 mil at the given week, they would be paying 2.5 million tax that week.
