I keep drafting players worth training, yet if I wanted to train them all up to their potential I can not because of the restrictions with training (1 position training, decreases for training multiple positions, training wrong positions etc)

There's got to be something put in place to at least be able to train and KEEP your own draftees. I could probably get a could profit by selling these draftees but what about if I do t want to.

Maybe could think about introducing feeder clubs made up only of a franchises draftees or being able to only buy and sell your own draftees between your utopian team and your initial team?

Thoughts?

It's just so frustrating investing in scouting and finding quality players that you are basically forced to sell if you already have 3 trainees in most cases, or watch them rot as they age

You can easy train 5 players if you choose a training of 2 positions, maybe sometimes 6 trainies.
Don't waste training on players with an ultra low potential, keep draftees they are worth of training and you can make a nice team.

This is where we hold them!

2 positions trains slower and less effective, especially for outside defence, inside defence etc (everything except JS, driving and rebounding)

And so your telling me i can get maximum training out of say 6 MVP+ players and reach their potential as quality players, the same as if I were training 3 players (48mins, single position on a 3 game week?)

Ps. Don't look at my current roster and think I'm talking about the players with low potential on my team, cause I'm not.

So you must decide, train 2-3 players or 5-6, it's on you.

I just say witch options you have.

Best of luck, you will need it.

I'm already aware of the current options.

I'm suggesting that we shouldn't be limited in training our own draftees.

Its the tough decisions that make the game both and difficult. I drafted an MVP Centre a few seasons back but im already training three guards so I decided to sell him.

Depending on your trainer level and the players starting skill points it is definitely possible to cap out players 24/25 either doing 2 position or out of position.

It would be the best if we could train the whole team, but I'm afraid that will never happen, like to give you to train all your drafted players.

Someone would train 3 players and you should be able to train 15 if you draft them? No way this will happen in my opinion.

I have the same beef with the current training system and would like to ditch the draft for a youth squad or some D-league option, to develop a bunch more players. But I think it's gonna be is what it is.

You have the same problem like the rest of us!
We all want to train MORE players FASTER and BETTER and without sacrificing anything at all =)

If you have more than 3 players, you need/try to plan your training.
As you know there are a few trainingsmethods who require atleast 2 positions.
* Rebounding, 1on1 and Jump shot. (Not losing trainingspeed!)
* You could also train all the 1pos as 2pos with a slight decrease of trainingspeed (but you train MORE players).

You may still need to play them out of their positions.
As the game has evolved lately, a guard needs a lot of inside and a big guy needs a lot of outside, so playing them out of their position is more or less a given thing for all (training) managers.

If BB want us to keep our draftees, they could either:
a) reduce the salary of "homegrown" players, like 10% or something.
and/or
b) give them a performance-bonus if they are "homegrown", like 5% or something.
Training your own draftee would then be more lucrative than training a bought player with slightly higher potential.

That seems to be a common misunderstanding of anyone's post who suggests reforming training. It couldn't be more incorrect.

Players don't get worse until they are 33, and even then it takes a while for their skills to decrease quickly. Also, any team only needs 10 players at the most who are at least relatively high-skilled. Because of this, players lasting many seasons and not many players needed per team, there just is no need reason for people to trade more than they are.
