Good evening everyone!

A large scouting campaign in underway, based on previous NT candidates and now pretty much any canadian player with superstar+ potential.
Our best player still is a 34 yo player (same one as the past 2-3 seasons - we had problems with his GS...), but there's a number of 27-29yo players that are very promising and could even make the team this season.

If anyone wants to see this massive depth chart and wants to give me some inputs/advice, shoot me a bb-mail and I'll give you a link to a nameless excel spreadsheet :)
For obvious reasons only Canadian managers that are not foreign NT coaches will be given access ;)

I also updated the NT announcement message on player profiles, so if you see it on one of your players, please contact me and we'll discuss what you can do to help the NT!

Alright, scouting of all 25+yo is done, the rest tomorrow and on Thursday.

Here are the first observations:
- Guard are mostly OK and relatively young, so we're covered for the next 3-4 seasons in that area. Also we have 3-4 younger players (25-28yo) with a good potential and good training. Same goes for younger players, I already contacted managers from 22yo players and things seems in the right direction.
- SF are more hit and miss. We have good ones, but mostly 29-33yo, and there's quite a gap afterwards. 2 27yo players are on the right path, but after that the best 25yo only has 111 TSP which is quite low for a good SF, and 26yo players are worse than that. So we're heading for trouble in 5-6 seasons if training of SF-type players (well rounded) does not improve...
- Last but not least, we have a big problem with bigs. Our best players are at least 29yo, most of them already 32yo, and they aren't even that exceptional, the largest ISP total is 61. This is not enough. Worse still, there are no young players even remotely close to being NT worthy in a few seasons even with extremely good/lucky training. We need to have managers focus on building inside monsters, even if the secondaries are not that great. If you don't think you can handle the high salaries, please sell them before it's too late! Monstruous bigs sell like hot cakes on the TL, and you only have to focus on 4 skills instead of 6 for guards, take this opportunity to make vast amounts of money!

Remind yourself than having a player on the NT gives an income boost, and makes the game even more interesting. They make you proud, they show the whole country (and even world) how good you are at training. Imagine having a player on the first Canadian team to reach the final pool of the Worlds?!
It will take time to get there, but I assure you we can!

I'm training my newly drafted MVP potential big. I hope to see him in our NT one day. :)

It really is a long term plan and require dedication (basically you'll be training him for 10 seasons), but you have a really good starting point. Don't waste it! He probably can make the U21 before that, but don't forget his outside skills to round him up a little, with his height it's more efficient to train those early.

Exactly. With the super high potential guys, often they are trained solely for NT. When they are in their U21 year they can be unbalanced and skills and not suitable for U21 play. That's the trade off.

I just did a first pre-selection of ~30 potential players for this season:

Bigs:
Olexiy Burimenko (29629206)
Aiden Kearin (26110831)
Rober Nixon (26111353)
Leo-Paul Valliere (28129458)
John Sammons (22158616)
Brian Emery(27323931)
Arend Siekert (28479212)
Rio Rafferty (34359910)
Sondai Sobuza (26110007)
Matt Campbell (29629447)
Willard Daly (26110180)
Charles-Francois Desilets (28482005)

SF:
Ulysses Hudgins (23547800)
Clint Moyles (24807184)
Aaron Madiar (29629315)
Joaquin Perez (27323642)
Cristoforo Spadaro (26111063)
Julius Bevan (31706818)
Suri Pongpanich (28479677)
Giulo Cornoldi (26110152)

Guards:
Henry Jarvis (30771661)
Aleix Barrero-Valverde (30719182)
Michael Jolly (24807183)
Lenny Rouillard (30718780)
Logan King (31706671)
Olexiy Getsko (26113126)
Jerome Walter (28479883)
Roy Chacon (20811755)
Brandon Hernandez (26110536)
Don Aaron (31706353)
Thomas Guévin (22159385)
Sompop Phojun (26110752)

Sammons is 35yo, I don't really want to have him on the roster, but it will depend on other players GS.
Hudgins is 34yo, so he is a risk too, but he remains our best player overall (highest TSP) so he will almost certainly make the team this season. All other players are 33yo at most so less of a risk.
They are ranked by overall skills (similar to buzzer-manager evaluation), so the order of the list is mainly relevant for the starters (i.e. Burimenko, Kearin, Hudgins, Jarvis and Barrero-Valverde will probably be the starters for the first game, IF their gameshape is good).
For the backups I'm looking for less rounded players, players with flaws but high skills in interesting domains (example high JS/JR but low OD), so the order of the list is less relevant for substitute players.

In other words, if one of your player is in this list, please be careful with his gameshape, as it could make the difference between making the team or not. On sunday, I'll select 11 or 12 players for monday's game (11 if Sammons makes the team), just in case one of them gets injured on saturday night. GS / minutes played will definitely be a factor here, be aware of that!

I'll also contact every manager directly to check if we are on the same page and if they are willing to put the effort to have their player on the NT. Our team is not the best, so we need all the help we can get!

PS: scouting is not yet finished (all the 25yo+ have been scouted), I'll contact managers regarding training later this week or next week. But if you contact me directly (as some of you already did, thank you for that!), I'll do my best to answer as soon as possible.

PS2: depthchart still available for discussion via BB-mail for canadian/friendly/thrustworthy managers!

Scouting is completed!
I'll contact the managers next week, right now I will focus on next week game.

Here are some stats for the different ages to give you an idea of where your player stands:

36yo (4 players):
max TSP - 113
max OSP - 93
max ISP - 57

35yo (3 players):
max TSP - 126
max OSP - 92
max ISP - 59

34yo (1 player):
max TSP - 141
max OSP - 90
max ISP - 51

33yo (18 players):
max TSP - 133
max OSP - 97
max ISP - 57

32yo (21 players):
max TSP - 131
max OSP - 97
max ISP - 60

31yo (7 players):
max TSP - 129
max OSP - 90
max ISP - 59

30yo (14 players):
max TSP - 128
max OSP - 96
max ISP - 61

29yo (15 players):
max TSP - 135
max OSP - 108
max ISP - 60

28yo (8 players):
max TSP - 138
max OSP - 108
max ISP - 62

27yo (9 players):
max TSP - 128
max OSP - 95
max ISP - 52

26yo (13 players):
max TSP - 117
max OSP - 95
max ISP - 58

25yo (8 players):
max TSP - 117
max OSP - 82
max ISP - 56

24yo (18 players):
max TSP - 116
max OSP - 94
max ISP - 58

23yo (21 players):
max TSP - 107
max OSP - 78
max ISP - 52

22yo (12 players):
max TSP - 94
max OSP - 77
max ISP - 54

As you can see we have some "holes". Great years (28/29yo, 24/25yo, 22/23yo) with others not so great (31yo, 26yo).
I think we are especially lacking in the big department, 62 ISP for the best player (that has poor secondaries) is too low to be competitive at the highest level of NT, we need bigs with at least 65 total ISP. So what I will do is promise a roster spot for the first player to reach 65 ISP, no matter his age or secondaries (I'm looking at you generation of 24yo!).
Guards are much more consistent except for the 30-31yo, that's less of a worry on the long term as far as I can see.

Keep up the good work Canada!

Does anyone know if luxury tax (33298) is connecting every few weeks to keep his team alive or if he just gave up recently?
He didn't connect since May 10, and if he's going bot we need to save Rio Rafferty.

Edit: I just realized I'll have to save Jarvis as well...! And his GS will be low for a large part of the season, that's a shame

Alright, lineup is almost set for game 1. I added Jarvis and Rafferty to the lineup to save both of them. Beanerz is going in a few weeks, and Jarvis is the best canadian guard anyway, so that's not really a loss of a spot.
Rafferty is to young to make the NT, but he is our best trainee by far, he needs to be saved. As we have no news from luxury tax (last connection at about the same time beanerz last connected, I didn't want to take the risk).
Both of them will have the reserve spot until their GS goes up.

Be prepare to buy both of them in about 3-4 weeks! I'll post a message here.

Bigs are selected, going with 4 players to start the season (with Rafferty later when his GS is up). All 4 of them had good minutes management this week so there was really no question about who made the team.
2 players for the SF spot, also not really a heart braking decision there, both of them deserve the spot.
I'm still undecided on the guards, GS management is only so-so with lots of potential players, so if anyone wants to help me decide, contact me via bb-mail!
I'll probably make the final decision tomorrow evening so that the players are on the team before the economic update and their owner can benefit from the additional merchandise.
