I put one player at starting PG and the bench in today's league match but he played at C for 48mins, why this happened?please

Have you used blank line-up in the rest of positions? A couple of seasons ago there was a change, so if teams leave too many blank spots, the coach fills them automatically, and not always as one would expect or like

yeah， I arranged total 5 and other 4for blank, but other games I also did so this season then the coach not messed up?
