Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could share a little about how your approach scouting.

Also, if you scout a player once and it reveals that its a 5 ball player. Is it for sure that he's a 5 ball player?

Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys could share a little about how your approach scouting.

Group demonstration, 10 scouting points, scouts @19 players once.
Give any interesting 4/5 ball group demonstration prospects a second look, @10 scouting points
Random scouting in the last few weeks before the draft, 6-10 points.

26-30 points spent at 5k per point= 130-150k spent on the draft.

Also, if you scout a player once and it reveals that its a 5 ball player. Is it for sure that he's a 5 ball player?

I've seen other people make similar comments, but I don't know what this means. You don't have access to a prospect's potential or grade rating with only one scouting, any player scouted only once is going to be a bit of a gamble, even if he has 5 balls in the first column, imo.

Cool, that's what I'm thinking about and usually do.

So what i meant by the second questions is, say that you scout a player once and it reveals that he is a 5 ball player. Nothing to do with potential at this point. Is it garunteed that he's a 5 ball player? IE: if he is interviewed or drafted will be be a 5 ball player for sure or can that change a bit.

To answer your question scouting doesn't lie. Only the grey unscouted ratings are inaccurate, but if you scout a 5 ball skill player they'll have good skills, 5 ball potential will have good potential(within a range).

but even a 5 star player with good skills can have some very low important skill like a guard with atrocious JR or a power forward with atrocious ID. or the guy can have amazing outside skills and be 213cm high. as much as you try to invest and scout, there are much more anthony bennets than lebron jameses waiting to be drafted #1 and that's not very cool.

That's right, I remember now, I hadn't read the rules for awhile. According to the Game Manual:
Scouted once: ...They are now able to give a more accurate assessment of his current skills...

Meaning more accurate than the random grey balls assigned. The second scouting is described as "you now have a very good understanding of this player's current skills (grade rating)".

So can the balls for the players current skills change after you scout him twice vs scouting him once?

No, no chance of that happening.

Scouting a second time is more accurate in that it tells u a grade which are like sublevels. So u know 5 balls is A skills but by scouting again whether they are A-, A or A+ is revealed.
