I've got good Jump Shot ratings on my starting Guards, yet they consistently put up horrible shooting percentages. Why? After going thru the list of usual suspects, i can't but help wonder how important is inside shot for my guards? They both stink; ones awful and the other atrocious. How important is Inside Shot to guards? Thank you!

Very important. The game seems biased towards inside shooting, though that may be because most teams have more OD than ID. Certainly your opponent's guards will not have much, if any ID and so the game engine is fooled into thinking your guards will score inside. You don't need supermassive amounts of IS, but even mediocre IS will probably be much better in your division. Also, better than respectable DR will help too.

Okay...I'm good with the driving, but my IS is woeful. That's good info thanks! Oh, since I'm on the subject, how important do you think Inside Defence is for guards? Thanks again!

While having ID in a lower level league isn't required, it is nice to have. I wouldn't worry about it, though.

Good driving and poor IS is an atrocious combination. The driving makes the player think he can score when he's just not capable of it.

About ID, I'd agree with Big Dogs, its not vital, but its these small things that can make a difference to you, because if you have ID on your guards and other teams don't, its an advantage that is really very cheap, at least in salary terms.

I would say since you need these things as you progress up the leagues its a good idea to get used to them as early as you can.

As Manon says, even at 6'0 he will train faster in IS with IS training. It is slow but even so, you won't need a lot before you see an improvement.
