Can someone please point me in the direction of, or explain to me exactly how the new relegation system works?

The game manual does not seem to have been updated?

I'm on a knife edge for 5th!

Does 5th play 6th from the other conference, and vice versa? Best of 3?

For what it's worth making 5th place fight for their life is brutal.

So at this point, 5th position is safe this season, and these changes don't take effect until the new season?

5th needs to play relegation games against 7th of another coast. who will have home court advantage if 7th has won more games than 5th?
