Hey everyone! I'm the new guy and I thought I would kick off the new season as the thread starter.
I spent twelve seasons in IV20 and honestly didn't expect to win the championship but I was going to push hard for it the next season. I played this game twice before but due to a chaotic life I didn't log in enough to keep my team(s).
I love to start these things off with a poll. I hope I can compete and move up the ranks. Thank you for welcoming me.

Welcome. I understand the long journey to get out of DIV. It took me ten seasons. Doesn't look like I will promote out of DIII any time soon.

The first thing I did was check the player salary floor. I was below it by $20k, now I'm only under about $2k. I don't have the capital to purchase big players right now. I do need to improve a couple positions but I'll worry about it later.

Our draft was pretty grim here last season. I think only one or two teams got decent players.

I'm hoping to compete for the championship this season! Got a pretty good core built up and I'm watching the transfer list like a hawk. Prices are always so high week one, though...

In my second or third season I waited a few days into the new season and sold an 18 year old MVP draftee for $4mil. I hoped the guys who didn't get what they were looking for were even hungrier. I used the money for my arena and a bunch of Dennis Rodmans lol. All D and Rebounding, no shot haha.

Promotion is easier. Staying in DIVIII is hard. This is my second time up.There is an extreme jump in talent and caliber of teams.I'malready 0-2. Could be a long season. Good luck to evryone.

Lol, Chronic Pain has 3 players on the injury list. I wonder if it's his coaching style ^^.

I just spent $600k to get slightly better at PG. Let's see how this goes.

By "slightly better" do you mean defense, passing, scoring, or a combo of all 3? It seems like balanced def/pass are harder to find (and/or much more expensive)

Unfortunately, I could only afford an improvement in scoring. An all-around improvement was outside of my budget, but to be fair my biggest problem with this team is shooting.
