Can you add information about who committed a turnover to the play by play? Much like the assist information, it would be nice to have a line identifying who committed the turnover (in fact for assists you have the information in the shot action and on a standalone basis, so twice). While we can identify who committed the turnover in these events:
BAD_PASS
TRAVEL
OFF_FOUL
THREE_SECOND
SHOT_CLOCK_ZERO (team turnover)
in the case of a steal we don't know who got stripped so we can't allocate the turnovers properly:
STEAL_ON_PASS
STEAL

I can't extract data from the viewer. I do integrate the play by play with boxscores I dump from the BBApi but it's not ideal, I'd rather have 1 routine extracting all the stats and data I want.

It's the only thing that's missing, but steals are important because unlike the rest of the turnovers they are determined by the skill gap in HA/PA on one side and OD on the other. When you see a player with 2 TO per game it might also be due to offensive fouls which are not indicative of skills on either player.

Ultimately in my game analyser tool I would like to be able to see who stole the ball from whom in order to be able to perform more accurate scouting. It's surprising that there is information on assists even when a player missed the shot and there is no information on this.

All my numbers match the boxscores totals perfectly. I have no discrepancy in single boxscores and in the totals for the season, which is to say 176 games.

Every single item on the boxscore I can extract from the pbp (plus a lot more information) and the only one that doesn't match is the turnovers (because of the steals). I have problems importing the pbp correctly sometimes, but that's a different matter and only happens when I automatically extract the source page html for a lot of games.

Do you have a link to the games that were bugged?

Personal, I might share it with people from the English community to scout for the NT or whatever when I finish deciding what stats to collect (other than the standard advanced stats used in real life too). I don't have the IT competence to build an executable like moutlinho's: my tool works through excel's VBA which is not the best, but it's just fine for me.
