I just noticed this now, a few days after the draft. Two of my picks are identical except for their potential and their picture: (4471434) (4471435). (They're not transfer listed, so you'll have to take my word for it.) Consecutive player IDs, too. I don't think this can be random.

It also explains how there were three SGs in the top 6 draft picks in Canada's I.1 all with a $6650 salary... upon further review, they are all the same height too and have consecutive IDs: (4471428) (4471429) (4471430)

I doubt there's much to be done now, but the generation of draft picks should probably be improved in future seasons so as not to produce clones.

The potential of these guys is different, so they are not (complete) clones.

Giving this a bump, since we're getting into draft season, and I saw no indication that this was fixed.

So is there any hope that it will be fixed?

Last season''s clones were not modified after being generated. I expect it's too late to fix this season's as well.

Well, that is extremely disappointing to hear, especially since it is not a new problem. I don't understand why a bug to something as important as the draft is not dealt with.

There were some draft pools that ended up with one or more pairs of players with identical skills. There is nothing further wrong with the players. Sometimes the pair were highly skilled players, and sometimes they were benchwarmers; it was random. The pairs were scouted and ranked and selected independently, as with all other players. Occasionally, they were drafted by the same team, as in your case.

We apologize for this oddity, and we hope to fix the bug for future draftee generations, but there is nothing that we can do about the pairs that were drafted this season. In short, teams received the players that they ranked most highly, so there was nothing inherently unfair about the process, with or without pairs of identical players.
