Just a thought that came to my mind, as trades are a big part of the NBA:

First of all, I like that we are not able to trade players. That's a thing I would keep as is.

My suggestion: The ability to trade draft picks. I thought of this because this season, I'm in a league with only bot teams and there are some promising talents in the draft. As the best team in the league, my chances of getting a great youngster could be better. That's why I think trading might be helpful.

Of course, trading picks would need to have a set of rules, like for example:
- Trading picks is only possible with managers from the same league.
- Max. 5'000$ for 3rd Rounders, Max. 50'000$ for 2nd Rounders, Max. 250'000$ for 1st Rounders
- Each team has to trade at least one pick with each trade
- Deadline: Trading picks is only possible until the Allstar game (before you know anything about the rookies, standings might change as well)
- You can only trade picks with active managers (wouldn't help my case this season, but necessary in my opinion.)

Scenarios:
1. Team X is 4th, Team Y is 6th. Manager of Team Y believes that he will have a better record than Team X at the end of the season, therefore he trades his 1st Rounder against Team Xs 1st. At the end of the season, Team Y is 3rd and Team X is still 4th. Team Y made a good deal.
2. Team W spends a lot of money on scouting and thinks he'll have tons of talents to choose from. He trades his 1st rounder for the worst teams 2nd and 3rd rounder. Team W now has 4 picks in the draft, the worst team only 2, but two 1st's.
3. Team Z wants another 1st rounder, trades his 2nd rounder plus 200'000 against a 1st.

I know this would have to be thought out some more, as it is very complex, but I would like to see this in the future. It would be a bit like gambling (ex. Scenario 1) and would make the draft even more exciting.

If you've read this far, tell me what you think

I like idea, but I have other trade.

Draft Pick to Draft Points [and not cash]

Why?

More effective, for exemple:

After All Star Game, open to 7 days the windows to tarde draft picks.

The teams on top 5 picks [last 5 on league] have more minimum cost;
Between 6 and 10, medium;
11 and bottom, low.

So +/- like this:

TOP5 Picks:
1st Round = 50 Draft Points or more
2nd Round = 30 Draft Points or more
3rd Round = 20 Draft Points or more

MED Pick [between 6 and 10]:
1st Round = 40 Draft Points or more
2nd Round = 20 Draft Points or more
3rd Round = 10 Draft Points or more

Lasts Picks [11 and bottom]:
1st Round = 30 Draft Points or more
2nd Round = 10 Draft Points or more
3rd Round = 5 Draft Points or more

The trade involving Draft Points I think more just, onde time any one have money cash pay to draft picks - and who invest on weekly point don't have advantage.

1 season paying 4 points per week costs +/- 560k and 56 draft points.

The "or more" is how much the user wan to pay to pick offer - respect the min.

With this, the best teams look will pomote division think to trade your draft pick to gain draft points to, who know, use next season on up division - to him is more effective. And, in the other hand, the poor teams trade yours draft points to draft more new and best players and built immediatly better roster, be on same division or bottom division.
