Similar to what Ubiond said (rookie of the year award), I believe adding more awards (similar to NBA awards) beyond MVP would be a great feature. Below I breakdown how this could be measured:

Rookie of the Year: Similar to MVP measuring, but apply to rookies (I think this should be pretty straightforward).

Defensive Player of the Year: Takes into consideration steals, blocks, and overall defensive impact.

Sixth Man Award: Best player who doesn't start (can't start more than a couple of games).

All Team Awards: Similar to all star teams, but in three tiers.

All Defensive Team Awards: Best Defensive players (steals, blocks, impact) also in three tiers.

All Rookie Team Awards: Top Rookies in two tiers.

Thank you,
CoachA

The Red Phoenix
It's interesting but I don't think that All Rookie Team can be possible in top leagues. In spanish ACBB only 3 teams has 18 year old players and only two of them has played in league matches more than 30 minutes. But I support this suggestion.

A welcome change for sure. This would also encourage owners to be invested in their players for a chance to win those awards as well. (y)

On 6th Man Award, maybe the similar MVP to players with less 24min played.

depends on what is defined as a "rookie"

maybe rookie is any player that "has never played in this division of competition before"
