So it looks like we're entering a new landscape in the ABBL, with the decline of WCE opening up opportunities for other teams.

Anybody want to declare themselves (or others) making a run at it this year? League or Cup?

I'm a bit out of the loop, I see a few familiar faces, and a few new ones too. Looking at the salaries, it's hard for me to tell who the favourites are going to be.

Anyway, here's my checklist from game one, opening night of the season:

Away game: check.
Use less enth: check.
Sub-optimal offense: check.
Trainee playing out of position: check.
Respectable loss without taking too much of a hit to my PD: ...... fail.

Oh, crap. Well, lets go see how much I lost ...

Lol, well I think it's a given I wanna make some revenue. So my aim is to finish 5-7th and invest heavily in the draft and see if I can pick up a stud, save some $$$ and compete next season.

I was hoping to maybe promote from div 3 then from div 2 then win the abbl in consecutive seasons but I don't have any funds to go for a run this season and my trainees are a long way away from starting still, so there goes that dream...

Survival is my focus. I am currently below the salary floor but may add a player to be more competitive. I have started training a couple of young Aussies.

Foenix Suns unable to hold off peaceNroll in Round 6 of the Battler's Tournament, going down 94-83 at home, despite seeming to play with greater amounts of enthusiasm.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, shows how one Crunch Time ruins an ENTIRE season.

Six ABBL'ers manage to make it through to Round 7, who will the fixture favour this week?

Also, I call dibs on a home game this week (preferably against one of the four Div 3 teams who've achieved the impressive feat of making it this far).

Made a huge mistake running 2-3 :'(.

I honestly thought you were deliberately trying to finish last, using a CT your last game.

After I saw that, I went back through my past history and quickly found the last time I used a CT during the regular season - it was in Season 26, against The Meateors. The ABBL is no place to still be learning basic enthusiasm management principles.

Actually, I take that back ... I think I remember using a CT the last time I deliberately tanked. I'd have to go back to double check it though. Nevertheless, that's the only reason I'd ever use CT - if I deliberately wanted to lower my enth so I could assure myself of the best possible draft pick.

How did you know he used CT ? It could have been a TIE vs normal :o
