I was reading through some old past posts here last night and read in a couple of posts....from the parrot joey ka himself stated that Continuous Training on a skill will actually Slow down growth. So if i want to spend a season train OD on my guards to Boost their outside defense for a big part of the season....the pops will eventually slow way down???!!!!!
If thats the case and if its true then should i do like 3-4 weeks of OD training and then mix in Outside shooting....or JS/guards or forwards??? I'm trying to train forwards currently but will be hitting their OD next season and want to get them (or at least 2) to around 17 on OD at age 20 and 21...using a level 4 trainer. Height = 6ft 4. I HOPE i misread that. If ys want to find the actual post i can dig it back up but its in the Parrot system.

well, my trainees already and still training 1/1 forwards and JS/forwards the remainder of this season and will have a little higher DR/HA but they will get that as well when training OD unless i am totally misunderstanding what elastic effect is. I thought it was to boost up HA/DR for guards/forwards (outside trainees) and cross training is for example training OD will boost ID or training IS will boost JS. So break me the let down easy mate....have i misunderstood elastic training and the meaning of cross training? I mean, i've seen players on the TL that has really high OD but nothing else near it, meaning 15OD while HA/DR is around 6 or 7 ea.....also, by boosting the elastic (DR/HA) with 1/1's will help PA train faster. I am sorry for the barrage of questions, just trying to make sure i get this the more serious i get involved in training trainees. Like my main 3 trainees for guard/forward training i been hitting them with 1/1 forwards and JS/Forwards until the end of this season and that should have their DR/HA well above 12 ea. So next season was dedicated to OD on them and if needed the following season. Thank you for the info, I just want to make sure i understand

OK....jumping back in the conversation. When training outside defense on https://i.imgur.com/7C5N1lL.png and https://i.imgur.com/qxwWw69.png and possibly this https://i.imgur.com/4c5HbRN.png........which would be the way to train them if i want their outside defense way up 15+?? I want to build up strong outside players and this one https://i.imgur.com/ODJCny8.png will get a little OD but not much because i will finish him off as a strong forward but he will still be involved in all 2 position training. But going by "Charles" training skills close to each other is the most effective way to train.....so this means something like small guys/guards train outside skills such as JS/JR, DR/HA, OD and PA will be the most effective way to train?
