Hi, I tried to find more information about the youth trainer (searched the whole HELP thread from the announcement of secondary staff), but to no avail. I understand it was implemented not so long go, but I still have a few questions. Probably the most boring one - is it worth it? Also, is level 4 trainer good enough for a new team? Or is there a significant difference between level 4 and level 5?
I am planning to buy a level 4 youth trainer since it is the most affordable for me and logically thinking, if my main trainer is level 4, then why should I buy a better youth trainer than him?
Please share what you know about it. Thanks!

It should be worth it, depending on your specific situation, in particular if you have 18yo trainees who can benefit for 2 full seasons. I use a lvl 6 trainer and lvl 6 youth trainer and the combined effect is more than a lvl 7 trainer. Nobody knows the exact improvement and it will be impossible to check unless you do another data collection project like the one years ago. All i know is that messing around for the first 4 weeks (had a level 4 YT and for one week even a lvl 4 trainer) I still got 19 pops in one season and there were reports of 21. That is a lot of pops.

So let's say it has a multiplicative effect on your trainer and it's like 2.5% per level (2.5% for lvl 2, 12.5% for level 6 and 15% for lvl 7), if your trainer would give you 25 pops over the first 2 seasons on his own, then a YT would add 3-4. It may be more and it may be less, but I think that's a reasonable assumption.

Ultimately it depends on how many and what kind of trainees you have: do you have low potential trainees? Lower potential trainees will cap anyway in a slightly longer time even without a YT. Does it make sense to spend around 200k per season, maybe a little more for a lvl 4 YT, to speed up training by 3 weeks in 2 seasons? It may be if you have many trainees. It definitely is, if you have HoF or MVP trainees and it probably is if you have Superstar trainees.

Keep in mind that if you fire a YT you will not have the drag on the economy that a lvl 1 staff member will automatically be hired in his place, so you can effectively replace this kind of staff much more easily than a trainer or a doctor.

Thanks for an elaborate answer. For now I have 6 pretty good skill-wise 18yo PA potential PF/C trainees. I know the potential is not ideal, but it's pretty difficult to buy better potential trainees as a new team. I will try to buy level 4 YT with salary as low as possible. I've created a pay-off calculator in regards to salary/signing bonus, so I will go for the best deal possible financially taking into account 2 seasons which he will work for me. I've now calculated, that the level 4 trainer for two seasons will cost ~500k, while level 4 YT will cost another 400-450k. It will be interesting to see if it pays off.

Invest as much as possible into your stadium and max your ticket prices as much as possible.

This is, and will be, your main income.

Its better to loose and build your stadium, compared to win short term...

Thanks for the great advice. Yes, I will sure upgrade my arena, once I know how much I need to expand it and have funds for that.Would you suggest to invest into arena upgrades/infrastructure as well or should I do it only when my team gets stronger?

No. Only invest in more seats and max out asap; 12000, 8000, 500, 50. Meanwhile train as good as possible with a lv 4 coach.

Arena upgrades will give you a couple more k per week, but more seats will give you a ton more...

Try to adjust your ticket prices weekly. Dont forget that opponents influence attandence.

Stadium first, training and than winning...

After an X amount of weeks you have to play the salaryfloor. As a newbie now, you dont. So you can earn a lot of money by keeping your salary as low as possible. And maybe win a game here and there by using good tactics.

Again, thanks for the help man, really appreciated. About ticket prices - I heard that you can only change it 3 times in a season, before the 1st game, before the 8th game and before the 16th game. Is this true or you can do it weekly like you say?
