Hello, everyone. I guess this has been discussed somewhere else, but I can't seem to find in the Forums, so I ask for advice here:

I have a capped MVP with a very nice Skill Points total (125+) with an Exceptional (lvl 6) Trainer to go. He is 25 years-old and 6 feet tall. One of its skills is one-position skill at level 17. In your experience, do you know approximately how many weeks would it take to pop that skill to lvl 18?

I have heard 2 seasons, or 28 weeks, but I don't know if that number is accurate. Nor do I know if that number was experienced popping, say, a lvl 11 to 12 skill on a capped player (not that I know if there is actually a difference between such midlevel pop to my high level pop).

I am trying to design my strategy for this and next couple of seasons, and since I am a heavy trainer I would love some input for this question, as I decide if I give it a try with my PG (NT player), or if I go for new furniture on my Cs and PFs.

Any comment (or reference to already discussed threads) would be helpful. Thanks!

I think it's faster than Josef Ka (or Joey?) estimated in Coach Parrot. In my experience it is faster than 1/3 normal speed and I say this for a number of reasons: I've had capped players popping faster than expected based on CP. Someone in the past showed on forums a player that was being sold and had Perennial All-Star potential with an MVP-level skillset (past a fully capped Superstar potential).

I reckon that if 2 or 3 pops in primary skills will make Lozano a starter for your NT then you should definitely go for it. If you plan to train out of position for secondary skills it may not be worth it as that would take ages even if he wasn't capped given his height and age.

1 check, 2 check, 3 check go read my post above again with this knowledge. I tracked all sublevels. All of them.

Josef Ka used his experience with Turbato on this and by his own admission it did not satisfy those 3 criteria so his was an educated guess more than the result of some data gathering exercise.

As you pointed out it is hard to get correct answers because most people only train MVP and HoF beyond the cap and that poses 2 problems:
a. it's not clear when the player caps since there are sublevels to potential
b. players cap when they are relatively old and training in general already slowed down

Any analysis on this topic should be done with lower potential players or even announcers/bench warmers, as they may be born capped or you can guarantee they are capped very quickly. As I said, lower potentials who cap when younger can easily get further through the cap as evidenced by that PAS who was well into the MVP cap level (this is because lower potential players will cap younger of course).

thank you, guys, for the input and briefly letting me brainpick your experiences.

i think i... will go for it with Lozano (my player in question). i hope i can get that skill to lvl 19 (2 pops away right now). i already have a cheap Exceptional trainer (less than 25k salary), so i have a safe economic flow for at least 3 seasons in that matter. also, i can train draftees and sell them, if i need to recycle the trainer or face some unexpected issue. also, it would not hurt me to buy a 4 million arena. ;)

my player already plays NT, but is not a truely "elite" NT. foreing NT hall-of-famer PGs should eat him with those 5, 6 or more extra pops.

thank you, and good night!
