Alright, y'all! Season 55 has begun. We've got some new blood: MAB9 (although they haven't logged in for three weeks... may be a bot in disguise), and Lokomotiv Atlanta (A.K.A. the farm team for NTSF Christopher Stepp). I'm pretty sure that Stepp alone could beat any of the teams in this league. So, as long as the finances hold out, the rest of us can plan for next season...
The first week is almost over and the landscape has changed a little: Sonicz have imported some expensive talent that could tip the scales in the Big 8 if they stay active; Beer Bellys have got a lot of young talent and looks to be in a training phase; Qmoney is rolling deep with talent including former Orchestra fixture, Ladero; Orchestra is skating the salary floor while hoping to stay relevant. The Great 8 have Lokomotiv Atlanta (the shoo-in for league champion), Cali Supes (who have gone all-American with their lineup), and MAB9 (if their manager ever returns).
After one week of play, there's still plenty to shake out, but there've been a few surprises already. Week one, it was the MAB9 loss to a bot. In week two, Orchestra took revenge for last season's loss to Qmoney in the semi-finals. And a young Beer Bellys squad got a thrashing from the Sonicz.
This Saturday will be boring, but next Tuesday has plenty of action: Qmoney @ Beer Bellys & Supes @ MAB9. Game of the week will pit the only undefeated teams in the Big 8 against each other Sonicz @ the Orchestra. Good luck all!
