My name is Andy, and I am helping out with the marketing efforts of BuzzerBeater. We at BB have decided to increase our efforts to be more active in some of our national forums. I have been assigned to be the German BB liaison to your community.
I’ve created this thread to better communicate with you as an official BB liaison to the German community, and I will try to check and respond to it often. Unfortunately, I do not speak any German so I will be posting and reading only English postings. Hopefully this will not hinder our communication with one another. I would eventually like to get a native German liaison to work with more closely in the future.
My goals for the German community are as follows:
- Build the German community: Increased presence on outside forums, or communications with local media (newspapers, magazines, etc.). We did a banner exchange on a local forum and increased membership within that community by over 500 members in one week! The bigger the community the better your playing experience.
- Potential marketing partnerships with local German companies (Sponsor Advertisements, Prize donations, etc.) We can work out a commission payment for any ad revenue found by any member. This revenue will be used to improve the overall BB experience, and will enable us to add more features, and get rid of any non-relevant advertisements from our banner ad network.
- Get ideas and feedback from its members (Any ideas to help us improve the BB experience for you would be appreciated).

I would love to see the see the German community grow to be one of our top 3 groups. Right now we are number 7.

Post here if you have any comments or ideas (In English if possible) Thanks.

Andy

First of all: welcome to virtual Germany :)
And maybe you should take out some banners in other basketballcommunities.
http://www.basket.de, http://crossover-online.de/five.php or http://kickz.com f.e.

Wow guys, thanks for the warm welcome. The sites you all referred look great. The only small problem is that I do not speak German :). If any of you are willing, would any of you be able to put me into contact with anyone from these sites to work out an advertising or banner exchange deal? Or find any local companies who may want to advertise on BB? I'm sure we can grant some sort of extended supporter time for those of you who can help.

Thanks again!

on schoenen-dunk.de you could contact the staff, with this frontend:

http://www.schoenen-dunk.de/basketball/bbl/contact.php - the first field is the name, the second your email for the reply, the third your webpage, the fourth field is where you live and the last and big one is your message. The field with stars are iimportant, and i'm pretty sure they speak english.
schoenen dunk is a big basketball forum(maybe the biggest in german?)

www.basket.de -> email to redaktion@basket.de
a newsportal for the german basketball

http://crossover-online.de -> redaktion@fivemag.de
another german newsportal from a besketball newspaper which has mor focus on NBA- i don't use it frequently

kickz.com -> presse@kickz.com
a shop with everything a basketballplayer needs

http://www.lees-corner.de/ -> presse@lees-corner.de
another big basketball portal

I am pretty sure that you could contact every page in english, which i think is easier if we translate betwenn you and the guys from this services.

Don't forget ICQ. We had a gaming-project with coke and as we startet to take on some banners at ICQ, the numbers of users nearly exploded.

growing in germany, i first thought something illegal goin on in here...

the best would be free buzzerbeater-basketball-shirts for all streetballers in here, that would be a great propaganda machine and the number of users would explode. ;)
