Just making a post to see some opinions about this option that the game allows you. Maybe I'm just bitter because I lost the player but still...

Yesterday I tried to buy a player and shortening the history it was me against another user (same country of the player's owner) and which the bidwar started in 3.5M and well... 7.8M after I think I broke the bank of my adversary only to find that the owner himself started bidding right after to keep the player.

It is obvious that it was pre-arranged purchase most likely for training reasons/NT and stuff like that and there's nothing wrong as long as you know how to lose (or be sure you will win the auction).

The painful part and probably the reason of the post it's because I'm scouting the market for 8+ plus weeks to find a PF/C for my team and in that span I only found three players that I really loved, only one of them would fit in training and 8 weeks and 7.8M after I never had a real chance to buy him.

It's not cheating or something like that but it sure is bending the rules a little too much unfairly but again perhaps I'm bitter right now, what do you think about this breach in the game?

Actually a great training facility
I don't really find an issue here. Imagine the guy overbiding you to the last cent wasn't the owner of a player - would you still consider this unfair?

And such buybacking is usually not even for NT reasons. For that you overpay just enough to not grab other buyers attention, but not too much to get fined.

It's weird, but not illegal as I don't see anyone getting an advantage. At best case owner is losing a lot, as he won't be able to sell this gut for a while (daytrading rule).

Pre-arranged trades have been going on forever and are not that hard to do. In fact, Sharman globetrotters pulled off a three team trade in season 10, the year he won the B3. How do I know this, I was part of his federation. Sharman wanted a Japanese NT player but the guy who had him wanted a NT SG from his country on another team. That other team wanted a SF from Sharman. . They all put the players on the TL for big sums of money and pulled it off. I also don't think it is (was) against the rules because there were BBs and GMs who were members of the BIG BOY BANTAR federation.

I don't think they were way over but they were all one bid and done. But at that time, most of the teams who could afford such players were in that federation.
