Hi.

Could anyone assist. I am wondering what is the difference between playing my guys with a sub/reserve. My starting PG has 9 stamina but my backup is weak. Would I be best setting the bench player as a sub or just reserve? What is the likely minute difference as I want to make sure he doesn't suffer exhaustion but I also don't want my bench players playing 14-16 minutes a game if preferable.

Thanks.

I've found playing my starter as the backup as well, then the sub as the reserve, gets the starter around 40mins a game.

So I set the lineup like this:

Starter - Starter - Sub

I can't imagine the starter hitting exhaustion playing 40mins (assuming it's not 40mins straight), especially with 9 stamina

But playing your starter 2 games a week with about 80-90 minutes in total will probably result und a lower gameshape than playing him 2 games with 70-75 minutes (36 minutes each as starter).

I only use that line up in games I expect to be close or I'm the small underdog. I wouldn't recommend doing that every game. Also could work if you anticipate a blowout win in the other game so the starter only plays 25ish minutes

With 9 players, you should have your PG position as blank, PG, PG; the rest of the players (the other 8) assigned somewhere.
That should allow you to get the full game for him (without fouling outs or injuries).

The old workaround still works perfect!

I had a blowout today (120900649) but my trainee got 48 minutes., lineup as follows

PG: P1 / P5 / P6
SG: P2 / P5 / P6
SF: P3 / P7 / P7
PF: P4 / P8 / P8
C: blank / Trainee / Trainee

The new workaround is effectively to let a Blank as starter.

That is what I stated before (in belief, that this is the old workaround).

It may or may not work …

For me it works for years now (except WOs, injuries, fouling out).

How does the @Eddy-workaround work?
