Hi all. This seems to be a relatively quiet league (no season 68 posts, only a handful of s67 posts) but maybe this season we can liven it up a little. Glad to be here. Hopefully we can have a fun season

I would welcome all the newcomers but this division isn't very welcoming. I know last season was a gauntlet for me. My theory is everyone is so quiet because they don't to talk because they might have to address their impending bankruptcies or selloffs. The past few seasons the league average income has been consistently in the negative by a good margin. As of today, the league average on weekly salary payments alone is: $514,757.

I guess this raises more questions than I’ll likely get answers for. The average salaries doesn’t really scream outlandish to me. So I wonder why the average income is consistently in the negative.
Last season in d3 I ran a team salary just shy of $500k and was actually making money

Average staff expenses were relatively high last season (over $50k) and average merch wasn't great, in the low $100k range.

The power of the L&HG bonus and merch infrastructure is really noticeable at higher division levels

Oh so me being broke and only getting $263/week there is not a good sign?

My merch is 20-25% higher than league average with a 100% USA roster (but only 1 HG draftee) trained mostly from 18 yos. My problem has always been the cost of using high level trainers and training facilities is very bad for the bank account unless 1) you have a massive bankroll to start with, 2) you're winning a lot and maxing out match income, or 3) you're making deep runs in the Cup/BBM.

I've never gone down the "cash out on my trainees and pad my bankroll" route so even after 11 years playing this game I'm still always on the edge.

I haven’t been competitive in D.2 since season 8 or so, I’m kinda nervous this go around. Hoping to see if I can even manage to stay up while training an NT prospect. It appears im well below league avg team salary. Not a good sign for me.

Having young trainees can be helpful especially in the second half of a season. To some degree, you have to spend money to make money in D.2. They tricky part is spending the right amount. You just have to be mindful of the salary implications of your training in the long run.

Welcome all. I've been here since season 60, mostly fighting off regulation each season since my finals appearance back in season 62. Not sure if that's an accomplishment or not. As stated it has been a pretty brutally competitive league. Like others have, I probably should have just regulated on purpose to get a fresh start. I have to start training bigs next season so we'll see how long I can hang on for.
