Hello USA Community!
We have been in a slow but steady growth period, but we feel that the USA community is ready to accelerate that growth. Right now, the USA community numbers around 850, and we’d like to see us break the 1000 barrier by the time the playoffs start. This is attainable, and we ask for the community’s help in making it happen.
We’ve decided that the best way is to offer incentives for using the new Refer A Friend feature. The BBs are letting me award a few prizes for the users who help the most, so I was thinking of turning it into a bit of a contest! Here’s how it works.
We have 153 users to go, at this point. The challenge is to get 153 users via the BB “Refer a Friend” link. Every day or two, I’ll post an update with how everyone has done so far in this thread (with some help from the BBs).
We are counting “Long-Term Users” (LTUs) in order to prevent duplicate accounts. The easiest way we can do this is by counting users once they have completed any 10 items on the Manager Tutorial Checklist.
For each LTU you refer, you’ll be given a raffle ticket of sorts. Prizes will be awarded both to the people with the most LTUs, and also by random draw based on the number of raffle tickets you have, so you can win prizes even if you’re a small contributor.
At this point, prizes will include:
- The ability to NAME A DRAFTED PLAYER next season (awesome!)
- Free Supporter Packages
- A private 30 minute BB tutoring session via chat or IM with GM-JuicePats
- And perhaps some more cool ones, as we think of them.
Also, for those of you who may be interested, you can bring in users a different way! If you click
(/BBWeb/banners.aspx) , you’ll find a few banner ads you can use anywhere you’d like (forum signatures, blogs or forums you frequent, sites you have, etc.). If you link the banner to <a href="http://buzzerbeater.org/BBWeb/?utm_source=user[your teamid]&utm_medium=[some way of identifying the location you posted the banner]">www.BuzzerBeater.com</a >, the BBs will be able to track those referrals, too. You’ll receive raffle tickets for those LTUs as well, so feel free to use either or both methods!
