I would like to complain for a moment about something that's occurring at an alarming rate in Buzzerbeater, and needs to be stopped immediately.

I speak, of course, of the practice of ignoring Mutual TIE Requests. If someone is so interested in your teams well being that he takes the time to send you a request to Mutual TIE, then you should have the decency to respond. It is morally and ethically unsound to not respond (leaving the offerer in a lurch on how to proceed) and then use this information to better prepare your team for a likely TIE.

I don't understand how people can stoop so low as to not respond to a mutual TIE request. I mean, if we don't communicate are we not human? Are we really prepared to de-evolve into animals?

The BBs need to address this immediately or I will not renew my supporter.

Are you for real?

leaving the offerer in a lurch on how to proceed

This is just one advantage of receiving such a request, imo

I hope the BBs step in with some solution to force people to reply.

Good idea. Maybe if you get offered a Mutual TIE, and don't reply AND you DID read the email it will count as a CT for you -- since you had prior knowledge of the offerer's intentions.

Or if the offerer TIEs and the the other team doesn't reply, the offerer's TIE is played like a Normal but still increases enthusiasm like it was a TIE.

That's a little harsh maybe. I agree it's a problem. There has to be a good middle ground between nothing and your recommendation. It's a start though.

edit - maybe some kind of small penalty to attendance/merch rev, due to your fans being upset you're not taking advantage of promising relationships. Only in the case of the manager reading and failing to respond though.

Although, as a tack-on, if the team that proposes the mutual TIE does not, in fact, TIE, perhaps they should be penalized as well?

Good point, and brings in another part of the mutual tie issue. What's the punishment for teams that break tie agreements? The whole world cup SF fiasco brought this issue to light, but has been swept under the rug since. Breaking a tie request is far worse then ignoring them.

Definetely. People that break the agreement should be banned. After all, that has been proven as being the last step in the human de-evolution into animal :D

I think banning is probably too harsh, at least for the first offense. Some mixture of enthusiasm hit/fan loss is most likely the best course of action - along with "fixing" the enthusiasm of the offering team.
