I bought a player for 31k but I noticed that the previous owner had a bid on the guy of 30k. Is it legal to bid on your own players?
thanks

Yes.

Sometimes, an owner will decide he made a mistake. Maybe he had an injury to another player and decides to try and keep the player. He does lose the agent fees, so it isn't free to bid on your own player.

Sometimes, a seller will bid on his own player to simulate interest, so if you are in a bidding war, check to see who you are bidding against.

indeed, bidding on your own player is not against the rules.

If a player feels he could get more for his player, or decides the bid is not high enough, he can bid on his own player. The risk is that others see this and think he wants to raise his price that way, and then decide to not bid anymore, so the player gets him back for himself, leaving him with the fees and the player he intended to sell...

EDIT: and not to forget, an extra sale in his last 14 weeks, so a chance of having to pay more sales tax next time he sells the player as well.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
