Passing is the key skill but there are more factors to take into account.

The offensive scheme used has an effect and I suspect inside-focus offenses end up delivering more assists than outside-focus ones, but that is speculation on my part. Experience is another, experience of his team mates - if they pass the ball after getting it off the guard above rather than shooting, or take bad shots, then that guy gets fewer assists.

True, but Phil is right though. Inside offenses do tend to get a lot more assists a game. I have an outside based team and do not get a high number of assists. My Starting PG plays about 32 minutes a game, has a passing level of prominent verging on prolific, and he averages under 3 assists per game. Explain that.

Do you only have 1 stand out passer/handler?

If you have trained passing then chances are you will have Strong/Prof/Prom/Prol passers all over the court... this being the case then everyone will get their fair share of assists.

My PG's are far superior to those of my competitors (in terms of passing) but against Look Inside teams (who train C's) go to the Transfer market buy a decent PG and he will just set up the PF/C's all night long and seem far better....

The funny thing here is the guy agreed with you.

I don't think he expects the player to assist all that much.

look you have to consider you opponents defense

if your strategy and player skill couldnt catch up to their defensive matchup then i probably no matter how many passes your pg makes only a certain amount goes in.

remember if your team has a number of good passers it also makes the assist lower because your moving the ball more

just because the game engine doesnt inddicate the passing as often as it does doesnt mean your pg aint passing the ball

trust me, your guys are doing their best they just cant that open often as much

good point....yeah....so that brings the question, should you pump up JS on your main PG to dilute his passing skill?
