אם מישהו יכול לתרגם לכולם את ההודעה שלי, זה יהיה מאד נחמד
:-)
A few of our users from Israel have commented that the Saturday games go against the spirit of Shabbat, and that they are not always able to set their lineups in advance.
We're certainly willing to do what we can to help the Israeli community out in this respect, but I'd like everyone's opinions as to what the best way of doing this is.
There are a few options, as I see it:
1) Move the Saturday games to Friday afternoon (well before the earliest Shabbat of the year)
2) Move the games to much later on Saturday night (for example, starting at around 22:00)
3) Moving the games to Sunday night, at around the same time of night as the Saturday games.
4) Leave the games at the current time, but allow all users who aren't able to participate on Shabbat to join the USA league (the games for which will take place at approximately 3am)
I know (3) probably looks like the best option, but there are a few major problems with it:
- The league final tiebreaker game is held on Sunday, and we can't push that to Monday because of the Offseason tasks. So, we'd need to have the second game of the finals and the tiebreaker on Sunday (perhaps a morning and evening thing). You will be able to set your lineups in advance for both games.
- Sunday is the best day for us to have down-time to do scheduled maintenance on our servers, etc. Even if we move Israeli Saturday games to Sunday night, we wouldn't be able to promise that we won't have to take the site offline for a few minutes (or, in the worst case, hours) on a Sunday. That said, you will always have late Saturday night (and, most likely, Sunday morning) to set your lineups in advance, so this might not be a big problem.
So, the choice is entirely up to you guys, and we'll try to do whatever we can to accommodate your suggestions. Our Israeli community is very strong, and we'd like to see you guys as happy as possible :-)
I look forward to hearing what you have to say! I will be reading this thread whenever I get a chance.
Thanks!
