hey i just got my team. ive read the rules and somewhat understand them but im gonna read them again. but meanwhile i wanted to know what i should be doing in the beginnings of my new franchise.

coach?
arena?
players?
training?
how do i get a scrimmage?

? if i wanna run a fast paced offense could i run like a small foward at Power foward an still be suceesful??? as long as he had some rebounding an inside defense. would he need anything else?

This game is fairly new and growing very quickly so they are a lot of things that people don't know yet and are trying to figure out on their own. However, I will try to help you out based on my limited experience.

Coach: I assume you mean hiring a trainer. I don't think it has been determined exactly how much of a difference a higher level trainer makes but I would definitely consider hiring a better one. The level should be based on what is available and what you can afford. I upgraded to a 5 my second week and am now looking for a 8 or 9.

Arena: I don't think anyone knows the ideal arena sizes and layouts yet. For now I would wait and see if you are selling out. If you aren't, then no need to spend money there. If you are, then you can either start expanding or raise ticket prices.

Players: I would go through your team and divide your players into the various positions to see what you have. Then create a starting lineup with subs and see who is leftover. If you have lots of centers, you can probably sell or fire the extras. You also want to look for decent young players that you can start training.

Training: I would train stamina or free throws for the first week or two since it helps your whole team. This will give you a chance to see how your team plays and determine what position you want to train. You should look for decent young players (18-20) to train. Hopefully you have 1 or 2 on your team. Otherwise you will have to buy them but I wouldn't spend too much money until you know what you can afford.

Scrimmage: Right now a lot of teams are in the cups so aren't available to scrimmage. You can scrimmage someone by going to their team page and challenging them. An easy way to find an opponent might be to use the scrimmage thread in the Global forum.

I think you could try using a small forward as a power forward. I honestly don't know how that would work. I am still trying to learn tactics and good lineups too, but I think part of the game is trying things and seeing what works and what doesn't Good luck.

k thanks ive bought some 18 yr old point and shooting guards as im gonna train outside shooting. how much playing time do they need to play to get training, and when are player trainings updated?weekly?or after every game? i play hattrick so i understand some things.

i played a small foward as a power foward and played a fast paced offense with full court pressure D an it worked, well i won by over 30 so, im not sure if it was good or the team i played sucked. haha

Training occurs weekly, early Friday morning after the Thursday night cup game or scrimmage. Training is based on the amount of playing time your players got in the 3 games, Saturday night, Tuesday night, and Thursday night. For example, if you are training point and shooting guards, then every player who played in either of those positions during the 3 games will get some training. Players who played at least 48 minutes receive full training and anyone who played less than that will receive partial training. Congrats on your win.

On your roster page, look at the skills, and there will be a faint green arrow next to the skill if it has increased.
