I was calculating economy and it looks like I'll be losing money...this is how I calculated it...

So when it calculates the weekly economy...which is on...Friday I'm guessing? This is what I get. For merchandise revenue I just used this week's.

Player Salaries: - 60216
Staff Salaries: - 27467
Scouting Costs: - 40000
TV Revenue: + 35000
Merch. Revenue: + 8034
New Account: + 50000

TOTAL: - 45351

If this goes on for the next 4 weeks I'll be losing that much each week and be in the red by the 5th week since the 50000 newbie bonus is only for the first 4 weeks and I will end up with a - 95351 in the 5th week. Will I be getting any other income that I missed? I'll lower the scouting if I have to, but I want to do well in the draft. Even if I DO lower the scouting to 5000 a week it's still a loss of 10351 a week and then a loss of 60351 starting the 5th week.

Ticket Revenue for me would be about 63580 if I max out seats, but I don't expect on maxing out all my bleacher seats. Is there another source of income or should I lower my expenses? Or will my home games be enough to not put me in the red? Do I get money for having a home game during a cup game or only winning it? Thanks.

Thats a lot to spend on scouting..... thats $560k over a season. If you cut that in half you will be guaranteed to find a trainee on the market for the $280k you will be saving.... + you still get your 3 draft picks....

If money is tight, this is where I would cut back...

In D.IV, your finances will be pretty tight. What you haven't included is the revenue from a home league game. You will typically have one home league game each week, but not always.

As others have mentioned, cut back on the scouting. In D.IV, you might cut clear back to $5000/week. There are quite a bit of new teams in D.IV, and there will probably be a few in your league who simply sign up. When it comes to drafting, they will draft blindly. In addition, most other teams will be in the same financial constraint as your team, and won't know about most players in the draft, so you should be able to do OK in your initial draft, even without a whole lot of information.

Starting this season, there is no gate money for cup games. The winner of each game does get a payment, but it is modest ($25,000) in the early rounds.

PS Just becayse your opponent is a bot, don't assume that they will be a pushover. Go with your best lineup.

PPS It happens that your cup opponent could be given a new owner before the game is played. There is not really much you can do about that. The good news is that an owner on their first day might not do any better than a bot will do.
