The offense strategy 'Push The Ball'.....

1. What does this mean, what will happen when you select this strategy?
2. What are the preferred player requirements before you select this strategy, what needed to be succesful?
3. If your opponent selects this strategy, how to respond/defend?

Thanks guys!
Cheers

1. It means you play fast, or like in the rules 'increased pace'.
2. It looks to me Stamina could be usefull so you can play this tactic for the whole game. Handling and Passing also I think.
3. Don't know yet how, but I think you should try to slow your opponent down, maybe in a zone defence?

"push the ball" strategy for me is to be aggressive in inside offense..those players who have high driving skills will perform better on this strategy...Just like what chihuahua have said stamina is the key to defend this strategy..you can't defend effectively when u use zone def against push the ball strategy(Own Opinion)because the main purpose of "push the ball" strategy is to break the zone defense(unless u can take 3 pts shots 48 mins with a high percentage rate)..The only way to defend this is man to man and I think full court press(with a good outside def back court players)..The only way to fight an aggressive offense is to use aggressive defense.

And Oh the fast pace? - Run and Gun

i think to my opinion

push the ball , as it said is more of trying to increase you tempo. but the difference from R&G is that this offense still works on your team strenghts. rather than R&G who tends to be a shoot fest and really really fast game. like a 7 seconds or less.

if you analyze games, whether its shot attempts or points usually differs on the teams strenght.

If the opponent has high TOs, and you have decent stamina, I'd definately go pressing.
I've noticed that teams that have better players tend to play faster tactics, while weaker teams try to play slow to keep the game close. If your opponent has much better players than you, it wont matter what tactics he plays, your tactics then will be train till next year.
