This is a copy of someone else. It gives you a inside.

Point Guard - the PG should be best at getting the ball to the team mate who is open, or create an opportunity, thus-
(1) Handling, Passing
(2) Outside Defense, Driving
(3) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Inside Shot

Shooting Guard - the SG should be able to put the ball up from anywhere, anytime
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range
(2) Handling, Passing,
(3) Driving, Outside Defense, Inside Shot

Small Forward - should be the most athletic player with most varied skill set
(1) Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense
(2) Handling, Passing, Driving
(3) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(4) Rebounding

Power Forward:
(1) Inside Shot, Inside Defense
(2) Rebounds, Blocks
(3) Driving, Passing
(4) Jump Shot, Handling

Center:
(1) Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Rebounds
(2) Blocks
(3) Handling, Passing

Well doesn't it kind of suck that to train Jump Shot you can only train the PG and SG when going by that list it would be ideal to train the SG and SF. In training you can only train the PG and SG or the whole team. (And training is slower when you select the whole team)

I understand what you say, but it says to train all of them it will train slower. I want to train smaller amount of players quicker.

Well that's what gives the game that little bit extra.. I play hattrick for some time, and there is training fairly basic so there are a lot of the same players. I think that in 5 till 10 season's you will have a wider variaty of players from general skilled players to specialists. It will make this game far more interesting. At least this is my opinion.

I'm all for something different. and this game is different in it's own right with the draft etc... but i don't see why something as fundamental like training should suffer. If jump shot is meant to suit SG and SF, then you should be able to train those 2 positions in that skill. I dont see why anyone would train jump shot if you cant train just the SG and SF if you have to select training the whole team when doing that takes a whole lot longer (or so the rules say)

You can train either the Guards, the Forwards, or the entire team. It could make sense to have the combination SG and SF as another option.

well, we actually had a pretty good discussion about this in (2299.1). In fact, you agreed with me that Handling could be used in all positions.

In addition to the skills list that you put in the sticky, there is also an alternative list in the thread above, and it gives good info relating to skills that might be needed depending on type of offense/defense played.

this thread (381.53) also if VERY handy. GM-JudgeNik gave us this list of Outside Skills training and Inside Skills training.

Both those threads are quite helpful. I've not included them in the stickies because I'm trying stick to the basics and not post an outline on the entire training system. Have to leave some parts for the user to figure out...

But what do others think? Should I include a more comprehensive review of the training program in the Help stickies?
