Hey everybody,
i´ve a SF with good JS (14) and JR (10), but very bad IS (3). The problem: he is already 22. Some weeks ago a read that some players, even when they are older, will learn very fast if they are much better in a linked skill - is that right?
So, will it make sense to train him a little in IS, or is it just a waste of time?

It is not like he will gain level after level IS because of his high JS & JR. It's more like the other way around: he will train IS at normal 22yo pace, and his JS & JR training will have slowed down...

Thanks! But in think i remember that in a german forum the nationalcoach wrote that he had a player with very good IS, ID aRB, but bad blocking skills. When training this player then in blocking, he improved much faster then normally expected.
But you never heard of that?

That makes sense, I also experienced the same when training my center. So it is possible he'll train faster, but that totally depends on all his other skills.

I am a whitness in this case, he improved several weeks in a row in blocking with two positions trainings with 20 Years.

But the other thing is, i don't believe that JS and JR are the most important links for IS but i wouldn't dare to train such good 22 year old players.

ok in this case i had probadly problems with my english, i would train a good 22 year old - i suppose you understand the opposite ;) With week one i would be cautious with training.

But if you understand it right, the most good player are 20 years + so 22 year ain't that old ;)

I thought you meant because it could be a waste of training if he had already reached his potential and that you would rather train someone who you knew would pop more often.

I would imagine most managers would be happy to train 22yo BUT a lot now are at or very close to their skill caps so then you could be wasting time trying to improve someone that cant really be helped.

with an c you might be right the best one reached their all star cap with end of 20, but guards most be very very good to be at their skill cap even with 22.
