if i wanted t train my gaurds to be better at shooting inside how would i do it,maybe one on one?

You could try to get them minutes at those positions during scrimmages or games you're certain to win/lose.

but would that help them finish the drives down the middle like u know making the layup after they drive to the basket

No. Driving and Inside shot are two different things in this game.

Is it safe to assume that driver helps you get to the basket while inside shot helps you finish? And that you would need to be relatively good in both in order to drive and score?

They are not.

Since seeing a prolific driver and pitiful inside shooter score on 5 consecutive layups (denoted in the game engine by 'drives to the basket or something like that), I think that driving can help when going for layups.

driving help to finish every shot*, even a good IS scorer as a center, pf or Sf gelps him to finish his layups.

Insideshot ain't such an important skill fpor a guard but it isn't useless.

*maybe not the assisted one's ... But that is a question for a BB.

The BB's have previously stated that a driving shot considers both the driving ability of the player as well as the inside shot ability, with driving being weighted higher.
