I have a 19 year old SF that I have been training at the PF slot to increase his inside skills. I am currently training IS, and this player got 58 minutes at the PF position last week. His IS is atrocious, and he didnt pop, although 3 of the other four trainees who qualified did pop. The wierd thing is, this guys stamina dropped from avg to mediocre, and his ID jumped to inept, even though I am not training ID.

Are either of theses results typical? The guy started 1 game and backed up the other two getting 58 minutes. Why did his stamina drop? And do non trained skills pop randomly like that?

stamina will drop for all players. it's the only skill aside from game shape that can drop before a player gets close to retirement. stamina decreases are not the result of training different areas.

also keep in mind that skill training in one area can also improve to a small degree other skills. so if you're training IS you can have players pop in ID and JS.

Thanks for the info.

It seems odd that a 19 year old would have a stamina drop being so young, but thats the way it goes.

doesn't matter how old they are. every age will experience stamina drops.

If you just want to maintain your current stamina level, once a year pretty much does it. If your players have bad stamina, or you simply want to raise it (e.g if you play a fast paced tactic), it makes sense to train it twice. I would recommend the all-star break and the off-season, because there you don't have 3 games a week, and thus usually not enough minutes to train properly (Stamina and other team trainings don't rely on minutes played).
