How important is stamina? Most of my good players are at atrocious with my highest stamina at average. I would like to know if it is ideal to have stamina higher.

My best player, Miško Tuponja (2254567), has pitiful stamina, but that doesn't bother him much... I think that stamina is not that important when you have a good team rotation...

1: A player with low stamina will play fewer minutes in a normal rotation
2: The more minutes a player plays, the lower his rating - this effect is greater for a player with low stamina
3: A player's performance will obviously decrease when out of stamina - it depends on stamina and tactics how quick this occurs
4: Fast paced tactics (like Run and Gun or Pressing) will increase the negative effect of low stamina, so chose slow tactics if you have players with low stamina

your very good team is loosing the last quarter by an average of 2.8 points, while winnning the first 3 quarters by 8.4 points! ... hmmm.. I can think of a reason...
(by the way i did not count the games when mercy rule applied)

Well, in my case, I'm loosing the last quarters often too when my team has a big lead... In last quarter, my coach puts in the back-ups, while the opponent plays with his starting five... And even then, my team doesn't look bad... But I never noticed some big influence of stamina... Check this game:

(8683502)

And three of my best players here have stamina as follows:
Tulic - awful
Villalobos - inept
Tuponja - pitiful

And I always play a fast paced tactics... So, I don't have some good reasons to train stamina yet, maybe when my players become too old for training...
